Sorry it's been a few years since I marched. At regionals they would release scores preliminarily throughout the day rather than all the scores at the end of the day. It was always a big deals listening for Dan Potter to announce "And a preliminary score for the Mandarins is..."
Thank you for actually having a reason behind your opinion other than "ITZ NOT TRADITION THEYRE UNIFORMS SUCK". This is not something I had considered. I appreciate that they are evolving with the times, but the performance value of facial expressions has not been something to take too heavily into consideration on the field until now. I imagine those that are experienced or involved in WGI are probably better at this than those who are not.
From the DCI website:
"Since the Percussion score is one that is divided in half before being added to the final score, this caption was responsible for 0.55 of the difference between the two corps. Considering that Cadets finished 0.30 under Crown, the fall in Percussion was the difference between 2nd and 3rd place."
Makes you wonder, would the drum score have been enough to bridge the deficit?
He didn't realize he was about to go between the DM and the corps (HUGE mistake). In the blink of an eye, the DM turned around, whipped his sword out, held it out in his way, and said, "You shall not pass."
He didn't.
My friend's dad almost got his head cut off by Troopers' DM in 06. Learned his lesson real fast.
...and I didn't know that that's a REAL sword in his holster.
That girl is laura koester...daughter of the amazing jw koester! I marched with her at mandarins in 05 and 06. She's an AMAZING performer, I'm glad to see that she got to play martha this year. I almost didnt recognize her!
