Had they picked a different closer, the show would not have had the power that it did. IMO, kudos to them for sticking to their guns and putting the value of the on-field product first. -
I watched the Muncie video and the gaps appear throughout the show, I've got to believe they are holes.

I am happy to represent that remark! -
I was raised in a single parent household and we were very poor. We moved to Madison, Wisconsin when I was nine years old, and one of the kids next store was in the Jr. Scouts. My mom thought it would be a good thing for me to do to keep me out of trouble. Joining the Madison Jr. Scouts at the age of ten gave me an opportunity to learn discipline, meet other kids my age, and learn to play an instrument. As I got older, I became a better musician, and through that, became more interested in the arts in general, and developed confidence in myself. While I was done with drum corps at age 16, I never stopped making music, and went on to learn how to play several other instruments. I discovered I was pretty smart, and had the confidence to go on to college. These days I am doing well with a family of my own. I truly don’t know who I would have become if I had not had an opportunity to be introduced to music and the arts at a young age, and to develop confidence in myself as a musician and a person. I suspect my life would be vastly different than it is today. (and not for the better) I particularly want to single out Jimmy Elvord (Jr. Scouts Director in 1972) as an influence on me and many other young men. He treated us like men, and expected us to act like men. I was away from drum crops for 30+ years until I became re-acquainted with it through DCA in 2006. I began to perform again and found that while the activity had changed greatly, the people are still the same - GREAT. That which joins us is always greater than that which separates us

They chose to go ahead with the complete show as written. They chose to favor the live, in-stadium product over the recorded one. If you know anything about Madison's philosophy, this should come as no surprise. Kudos to the staff for sticking to their guns and putting on one of the most memorable shows of the year, and for developing an iconic, Madison-style closer. Also, thanks to the Madison staff for continuing to work on getting the sync rights for future DVD realeases Edited for clarificatiion. -
Can you lose your World Class Status?

It appears that westorm is trying to get people to bag on the Cascades by presenting scenarios on expectations for them, and then sitting back and letting everyone else say how unrealistic those scenarios are. Dont feed the troll. -

Despite that fact that they were not able to get the sync rights, I am glad they chose to go forward with keeping ESOM in the show. I can’t think of any other piece of music that would have brought the same amount of power to the end of that show. -

Thank you for posting this. I am glad to see that they have been and still are pursuing the sync rights. ESOM has become an iconic Madison piece in a very short time. -
I predict HOT, HUMID weather for most of July in the upper mid-west.
