  1. Stop being “toxic.” Oh, am I on the wrong thread? We do like to throw those mean words around. One persons poaching is another’s leaving voluntarily because it’s a good career move. In the very same way, one person’s toxic is another’s critique of poor performance.
  2. Wow. Honest reply. Clear, short, concise and to the point. Without attacking the other poster. You must be new to this website. This is an off topic question but, how would you have arranged it differently? I rather liked the arrangement but now I’m interested in how you would have done it. Thanks
  3. Thanks for churning this up again. Can you two go fight in private and leave the rest of us alone?
  4. Well, the DOJ letter cited in the OP states they are delinquent, and also states that an organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or distributing charitable funds. So, how have they dug out of their debt, if bingo funds cannot be distributed? Or have they done that illegally?
  5. This is actually an excellent analogy that demonstrates that right now what the organization desperately needs is not another CEO that maintains a healthy organization; rather, it needs a damage control CEO who has expertise in patching the hull to keep the ship from sinking (using mattresses, dead bodies, whatever it takes!), get it towed into the nearest port, dewatering it, repairing the hull, and getting it afloat again. Only then can they search for a “times are good” CEO. This demonstrates how they need an immediate infusion of leadership talent with very different skill sets. And if they don’t do this, I’m afraid they are toast.
  6. Incompetence. Hubris. They Think they have it under control. Embarrassment. Skimming cash and don’t want to get caught. (Lest anyone freak out I am not accusing anyone of this). There could be many reasons.
  7. There is a lot going on in this thread. Competing egos, competing gripes, competing topics. I’m so glad Mr. Royer is not around to witness this.
  8. Thank you for saying this. I agree completely and you say it better than I could. Mr. Lester really should take this to heart.
  9. No he didn’t. And you are not helping the SCV BOD cause either. It’s probably a moot point at this juncture anyway. We are near the post-mortem “how did this happen” phase.
  10. This is feeling like the end for SCV. Delinquency notice followed by assurances that the paperwork was tidied up and everything is under control. And then the second notice. Can’t field a corps in 2023. No CEO. Treasurer quits. Board meeting cancelled. And we are to believe each of these examples is just a series of “one offs” with easy explanations. So sad.
  11. Fourth competitive year in a row, not even close to the top 12. The leadership team is being real crafty and sneaky in their rebuilding. I will give them that. It’s like you can’t tell they are rebuilding from their placements. Are they telling the judges to score them lower so they can explode into the top 12 next year?
  12. Every year y’all get suckered into believing BD can be beat. It’s so fun to observe. I look for BD’s spread over 2-4 to actually get bigger.
  13. Poem choreography? The woods are inviting, dark and deep, but I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep
  14. At first this seemed to be just another flame type reply. But when I read the whole thing I realized - this is actually pretty funny.
  15. No one has mentioned 1999 yet. Jesus Christ Superstar was fantastic.
  16. Groundbreaking. And a bit….. harsh on the ears. (Sorry). I do understand that in the context of the era that’s what everyone did. Well, except Ms. Opie’s horn line from Kansas. Talk about groundbreaking! But I digress. Sorry again. Twice in one post.
  17. Few members are actually from the area anymore (Rockford, Madison, Rosemont, LaCrosse). That doesn’t seem much of a factor today.
  18. There are talented people on this board who can do two things at the same time, support the kids marching AND discuss SCV. Not sure why you feel the need to censor everyone. You really don’t have to read this thread, right?
  19. Well aren’t you an angry one. I chose to let your previous ad hominem attack go but you chose to do it again. My read of his post was that he is claiming that Mr. Stewart is the cause of todays problems, 21 years later. And I asked, is this what you’re saying? Because I could be misinterpreting. All it would take was a - no that’s not what I’m saying. Or - yes that’s what I’m saying. But instead we get the very vitriol of which you accuse me. #toxic indeed.
  20. Odd to me that on this website, which is a shell of its former self when it comes to numbers of participants, the handful of active posters still here want to shut down threads. Instead of, for example, just not reading ones that annoy them. It is also possible people are just funning here. Yes I’m aware there have already been at least two lengthy SCV threads.
  21. Right. Read the thread. The title of the thread is “Madison Scouts 2023.” So that is why I asked you about connecting the dots from the director 21 years ago, and how that is affecting todays performance. You said Sal and Michael started rebuilding relationships immediately. So are you saying there’s a connection, or no?
