  1. Maybe!!! I'm sure more info on this will be announced soon!
  2. I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm saying it's very rare. As was previously said, I think most lines now-a-days have a matching set so they get the "concert band" sound. Just my opinion.
  3. Another point is that if the only way you're getting these high notes is with a cheater mouthpiece, it won't cut it, unless you can play on one of those and have a dark tone on it in the the middle register as well as the high register. Most brass caption heads won't let their leads play on a small mouthpiece because their tone gets too bright when not playing high.
  4. Dick, I like the idea, but I'd also like to point out that under no circumstances can you call an Allen a scare crow. You'd better hope the rest of the family doesn't see this lol. Great show! Go get 'em guys!
  5. The El-Cheapo ones from the dollar store don't bother me!
  6. Joe informed me of this last night; he seemed pretty shocked and upset about it. Must have been a great guy! RIP
  7. Indeed I am, I carry my card with me in my wallet at all times!!!!
  8. The only thing I don't agree with is Grennies finishing last in Field Perc. finals night. Other than that, I think the judges were right on the money. And I also happen to disagree that the judges did a fine job with Open Class... I think they were off a lot more with that group than Class A. But.... that's not for me to decide.
  9. Jon "Big Country" Gifford, winner of last year's trumpet individual, will not be able to make the competition this year. He had his appendix removed on Thursday morning, and is still feeling some aches and pains. He will be trying to find a flight up for the finals show, but it is disappointing he cannot attend I and E. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
  10. Suck in a big breath of air, then reverse the air stream through the horn with a buzz, and use the tongue ( not too much of it though) to create a Dah sound. It really has nothing to do with power or having a dark sound, but more to do with making sure that every hornline member is articulating with the same syllable, at the same time in my opinion. It also helps me personally play with a more-open throat, though I don't know if this is true for other players. Also, where I come from, hah, tah, and fwah attacks are strictly forbidden. Violators are subject to persecution.
  11. Tom, it seems that the brass and percussion i and e links go to the same page. Maybe I'm just stupid, but is anyone else having this issue??
  12. The LaSalle Cadets are almost as good as the Ernie LASCELL Cadets.....
  13. Happy Birthday Uncle Jim! and a very happy anniversary to you and Aunt Linda as well! I hear the UB Marching Bulls are pretty awesome this year too.... I guess we'll see... Timmy
  14. Some people blow this thread way out of proportion. These are ALL just predictions based on nothing. Some people may claim to have seen all of the corps, but they're full of ####. And even if that was possible, it would be impossible to see every corps on the same weekend, unless they have their own jet plane and travel to California, Texas, Georgia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, Pennslyvania, Connecticut, etc. all in one day LOL. But i find this still impossible. So if you saw the Buccs 2 weeks ago, the Cabs last week, and MBI this week, you can't base it on anything because they're all improving every weekend..... well, hopefully anyway. Stop taking things so personal and lighten up people, not everyone, just some.... This is all just for fun. besides, Blousemen are winning this year anyway....
  15. Attended the funeral today, and I must say they did a very nice job with it. Almost all of Bruce's family spoke, a few friends, and a wonderful poem was shared about Bruce by the girls of the Spectrum Color Guard. Jimmy Steele played 2 solos on trumpet, and did an outstanding job on both. What a sound he has. To wrap it up, the pastor read some things that I'm sure he reads at every funeral, but were very touching to say the least. It was great to see how many people turned out last night, and this morning. Friends and family from all over the state, surrounding states, and even down the east coast were there to say their goodbyes to this wonderful man. He may be gone, but with how many hearts and lives he touched, his legacy will live on forever. RIP Bruce (Bubba)
  16. Hi Joe, I think Cossetti kidnapped Joe..... Joe
  17. Hi Don, I'm sure by now you've seen that you will not be home for the services, but I am going on Sunday afternoon, and possibly Monday so I will make sure that everyone knows how much you would have liked to be there. Your son Tim
  18. Anyone who has information regarding services please get it out as soon as possible please
  19. Hey Tom D'Bomb, I played taps 3 times this memorial day, Your nephew
  20. Wow. I'm at a loss for words right now. I really thought he was going to pull through this... Though he's finally passed his tough battle which he fought hard through, he's in a better place now, but will surely be missed by all who knew him. I think a DCA or Northeast Color Guard Circuit trophy is definitely called for in Bruce's name, to show our respect for him, and to show future generations of drum corps what a remarkable person he was. I'll miss you bubba, as will the rest of the drum corps world. RIP
  21. Wow! Great start.... Keep it going MCL
