A friend of a friend who marched with him would like to remind you that he was removed from this position a decent way into move-ins and subsequently lacked all respect for the new (deserving) section leader. This comment is purely to say that even Magic wasn't so far gone as to leave him in a position of power after seeing him in action. He should also note that where ever his path takes him next year (if it is to whom we all suspect), they likely have a policy of silence on such message boards, and he will have to learn to watch his mouth. Membership in corps that can afford to be choosy is not based solely on talent in marching and music, but also on maturity and how well one gels with the corps and adheres to policies and morals. If one were to go into such a corps with no respect for them and only the idea that they "have an attitude" they would quite possibly be laughed out the door. Or cut. Take your pick.

What I consider the saddest part about this: Many of the members of '06 have decided not to march in '07. Wether through lack of funds or burn out (can you even burn out after a year?) Quite a few had plans to return to the Magic, and in a huge lack of foresight decided not to pick up audition materials from other corps. The other Div I corps that recruit in Florida are Boston Crusaders and Kiwanis Kavaliers, and a lot of the kids don't have money (or think they don't have the talent) to get out of state. Most of the (young, impressionable) Magic kids from '06 consider going to Kiwanis or trying out a Div II a step down. Ironically enough, they tend to think even worse of Boston, due to some drum corps lore told by the hand full of vets.

Heyhey hey! Ouch!

We came off the field and circled up and it was dead silent. There was this huge fierce sort of tension as the techs came in the center to talk, and all the Vis caption head could say was "wow... that was good." Everyone just kinda looked at eachother and started crying. That was truly the turning point in the season for the entire corps. anything like that moment

It's cool to know other corps have the M rule too. All I have to say is that there was a lot of it this year. Oh, and we watched "Friday Night Lights" on the bus one night... that'll do you in.

Definately Contra to Tenors. I like to keep my "beast" status.

I've heard from some people who marched Boston last year that Crown was rubbing them a little wrong and vice versa. Developing rivalry maybe?
