  1. ####, I was hoping the Scouts had a shot at SCV tonight.
  2. We really should cut the Cavaliers some slack ... They just haven't been the same since Lebron signed with Miami
  3. Having seen the Crossmen tonight in New Jersey, there's no doubt in my mind they can overtake the Cavaliers. That being said, I don't see any possibility of the Cavies NOT making finals.
  4. I'm surprised Cavies are that close to Scouts. I do NOT get it. I would have had them under Spirit!
  5. I am not FEELING the Cavaliers this year at all.
  6. They made A LOT of us alumni very proud tonight!
  7. 7th Mandarins 55.55 6th PC 58.3 5th BK - 65.5 4th Boston - 68.75 3rd SCV - 71.4 2nd Regiment - 73.1 1st BD - 74.75
  8. PLEASE ADD THE WHITE SABERS TO THE LIST- White Sabers 2012 Show Announcement
  9. The White Sabers are proud to announce their 2012 Production: “From Death Till Dawn” Segment I- Awakening Danse Macabre- Camille Saint-Saens Dies Irae- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Segment II- The “Scene” Black Magic Woman- Peter Green & Carlos Santana Love Potion # 9- Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller Segment III- Lift your “Spirits” Moondance- Van Morrison Segment IV- Return To The Grave Danse Macabre- Camille Saint-Saens In 1874, Henri Cazalis wrote a poem about an old French superstition. According to legend, "Death" appears once a year at midnight and calls forth the dead from their graves to dance for him. His skeletons dance and play until the rooster crows at dawn, when they must return to their graves until the next year. The 2012 White Sabers will use music from several different genres to portray this legend. Show Coordinator, Ben Chaffee, said “I’m very excited about this show. We’re going to be telling a story that people are familiar with but in a way nobody’s ever done before.” For more information on how to become a part of the White Sabers organization, please visit our website at www.whitesabers.net
  10. Mike has already cleared it up in another thread. I've thanked him and apologized to the three guys directly through facebook.
  11. Thank you Mac. if you say it, I beleive it. Sorry if I stirred anything up. Mods feel free to close this.
  12. Technically, they COULD fake it with a judge right there. The judge is only judging what he sees and hears. If its clean, there's no reason for him two comment on what would clearly be a design choice. any corps can CHOOSE to have to guys playing and three guys moving their arms as a visual effect. I'm not saying that's what's being done... just allowing for the possibility. edited for spelling
  13. MY thought, and its just a thought, is that when it started out, all 5 guys were playing, but as the season progressed, they took out the two upside down guys to make SURE its spotlessly clean. I really want to know for sure though
  14. Its VERY hard to tell. They're definately doing the correct motion, but I swear they never hit a drum. I'm dying to know if I'm right or if I just didn't see it correctly. It really affected my enjoyment of the rest of the show (I get crazy like that)
  15. I'm sorry if this has been discussed already, but I don't read everything on DCP. I mentioned this in another thread but nobody said anything and I really am curious. I was at the West Chester show last night, and I need to ask a Cavaliers question (I apologize if this was discussed elsewhere). Has anyone REALLY EXAMINED that tenor feature? I do NOT believe the upside down guys are playing. I SWEAR they are just faking. If that's the case, its total bull. If they ARE playing, then its amazing and I love it, but I sat on the 50 yd line, row 3 and I didn't see a single stick hit a single head. Perhaps it was just tonight, perhaps they've been faking all along, perhaps I'm seeing things. But seeing them faking was like finding out there's no Santa Claus. I felt cheated ... THOUGHTS???
  16. Just MY $0.02, and of course I don't know anything, BUT .... Anyone who says SCV's drum book is easier than the top 3 doesn't know anything about percussion. That's a complex book. They generate QUALITY sound, top to bottom. Pit to battery, and segments within the battery ... THE BEST OF THE NIGHT. Does it work with the brass? Absolutely not. Ensemble music SHOULD suffer ... its weak. But the percussion caption should reward them. NOBODY played as well as they did tonight. Plain and simple! BD ... I don't get it. Everyone's talking about their excellence vs. the others. I DON'T SEE IT. Every other year, I did. but I saw feet phasing .... Championships is in a little more than a week. That's not the devils I know. Their horn sound was unbelievably good ... but that's it. I don't see how its scoring as well as it is. But again, that's just me. Madison Scouts (ok, I am an alum) WERE ON FIRE. They have a fantastic show, which clearly is not as complex as their competitors, but they sell the crap out of it. NO WAY should SCV beat them in either effect caption or ensemble music... no way. I definately see a gigantic spread in Vanguard's favor percussively, but I honestly yawned through their entire show. Surf was leaps and bounds improved from when I saw them in Jackson. That show is really staring to come into its own. I need to ask a Cavaliers question (and I apologize if this was discussed elsewhere). Has anyone REALLY EXAMINED that tenor feature? I do NOT believe the upside down guys are playing. I SWEAR they are just faking. If that's the case, its total bull. If they ARE playing, then its amazing, but I sat 50 yd line, row 3 and I didn't see a single stick hit a single head. Perhaps it was just tonight, perhaps they've been faking all along, perhaps I'm seeing things. But seeing them faking was like finding out there's no Santa Claus. I felt cheated ... THOUGHTS???
  17. Scouts lose to Vanguard by about a point. Yet the recap is surprisingly not yet posted... hmm, wonder why
  18. Madison IS at Robbinsville. Their performance run is scheduled for 3:30 pm
  19. Anyone know anything about the order of performance? According to DCI website, Crown is listed as going on first- can that be right??? Listed in reverse order of performance. Madison Scouts - Madison, WI Crossmen - San Antonio, TX Jersey Surf - Camden County, NJ Raiders - Wayne, NJ Boston Crusaders - Boston, MA Carolina Crown - Ft. Mill, SC
  20. Great memory Tom, it WAS 17 horns. It was in 1988 and that show was in Montclair, NJ
  21. oops, accidentally posted the same thing twice
  22. Yes they are. In fact, DCA doesn't separate the divisions except at prelims and finals. And Jim, you are right. Reaching that magic number of 35 members was huge for Bush this year. To all the doubters ... Bush ain't goin' nowhere!
