  1. I am assuming the echo chamber will be in effect, however this is my first big show I will get to see in a long time, and the acoustics are the least of my concerns. Order of finish: Cavies BD BLOOOOOCoats Cadets
  2. I would like to hear more stories, or advice on joining a senior corps, so BUMP! :P
  3. Aren't the Madison Scouts Alumni corps going to play on Saturday night? I just read they were playing Wednesday and Friday. I will only be in town on Saturday!!! :(
  4. I am in section 316. Is this section ok for viewing? I have already been told many times that the echo is maddening, but this is my first chance to see the shows this year, and I am not going to pass it up!
  5. I am still interested. I'll be getting into town that evening. Email me the pdf. ajlemm@email.com
  6. 1 Phantom Regiment 1 Blue Devils (does this look familiar???) 3 Cavaliers 4 Bluecoats 5 Cadets 6 Santa Clara Vanguard 7 Crown 8 Madison Scouts 9 Boston Crusaders 10 Crossmen 11 Colts 12 Spirit 13 Blue Knights 14 Glassmen 15 Blue Stars
  7. More information can be downloaded on this flyer.Jonathan Miller Flyer (PDF) Could you repost this flyer so non Star alumni can see it (it returns an error)? Or else could you email it to me? ajlemm@email.com. I would really like to support this worthy cause, and I need somewhere to eat between shows!
  8. We should, although I don't know Indy very well and am without a car. The only bars I know are the ones in the hotels connected to the RCA Dome. I am staying at the Marriott. Somebody familiar with the area want to organize a DCP "aftershow" get together? What is the "Night Ride"? I have been out of the scene for a while.
  9. I'll be at both shows! Section 316, Row 4! I avoided the whole traffic issue. I'm staying at the downtown Marriott for the weekend. Anyone up for drinks?!!
  10. Too bad Phantom won't be there! I'm thinking 1) Blue Devils 85.6 2) Cavies 84.8 3) Cadets 83.8 4) Bluecoats 83.8 TIE!
  11. My story is a bit different, because regretfully, I never marched either DCI or DCA. I came from a high school with a pretty competitive marching band field show program, playing percussion. In college a fellow drummer invited me down to play with the Colts during a recruiting/rehearsal camp. It was awesome, and they offered me a spot in the drumline. As another poster said, I couldn't bring myself to give up the summer and my college life, so I didn't join. One of my few regrets. I really want to get involved in a senior corps for 2007. Discovering DCP has really ignited my passion for playing again. If anyone from Minnesota Brass, Inc. or Chops, Inc. reads this, send me a PM. I want to find out how difficult it is to join, dues, commitment, etc. I have pretty much read everything on both of their websites.
  12. Nothing anyone can say will damper my enthusiasm for the season! I am going to Indy next weekend and have my finals tickets. I am PUMPED!!!
  13. My opinion based off nothing except reading captions, posts and my own personal bias, which if I relied on 100% would have Phantom winning for the next 3 years straight to make up for the years they got jobbed (read 1989): 1. Cavaliers - high scores right now; history of toughness, creativity at finals 2. Blue Devils - highest score currently. 2006 is year of sweet horns 3. Bluecoats - moving up fast. read #2. sweet horns 4. Cadets - technically marvelous, but judges finally mark down for crappy amps 5. Phantom - tough final position, but great show 6. SCV - their constant movement moves them into 6th. 7. Madison Scouts - suffer mostly from excellent corps above them 8. Crusaders 9. Crossmen 10. Spirit 11. Blue Knights 12. Colts Next 3, Outside looking in: Crown Glassmen Blue Stars
  14. Logic would dictate that the Cadets are the corps to beat since they won last year. But it seems that the Blue Devils have come out extremely strong, and so have the Cavaliers. Who is the corps to beat? I will let you know my thoughts after I see them in Indy (Phantom won't be there, crap). Opinions?
  15. WEDGE! WEDGE! WEDGE! 89 Phantom. New World. Hands down. 'nuff said.
  16. I know this is getting a little off topic, but I totally agree with you. I truly believe Phantom should have won the 1989 show. New World is what solidified my love for drum corps. SCV's show was great, but it didn't have the "je ne sais quois". I know that may not win championships, but it is my favorite show EVER.
  17. You guys are probably right, it will probably be ringing in the RCA Dome, but not having been physically at a live show since 1991, I AM PUMPED ANYWAY!!! Anyone interested in tipping a few after the show???
  18. 1989 Phantom Regiment, New World BABY!!! And the person below me is listening to...
  19. I am very excited. I found my hotel through the DCI site. It is an "apartment-style" 2 bedroom hotel RIGHT NEXT TO CAMP RANDALL STADIUM! It is called REGENT-A UNIVERSITY HOUSE COMMUNITY 1402 REGENT STREET MADISON WI US 608-258-4900 The room is $109, but there are 5 of us guys, so pretty cheap, right next to the stadium, and BARS!
  20. Speaking of the Crossmen, where are they at? I haven't seen them figure in ANY scoring ANYWHERE! I'll check out their site, but any info. there would be good.
  21. Thanks everyone! I have always had a softspot for the Colts since I tried out back in 1993. (I tried out on snare and shouldn't have. The snare players were unbelievable! Consequently, they offered me a position in the cymbal line). To this day, one of my few regrets is not joining the Colts.
