We all know the kids at the Cadets work hard. All kids in drum corps work hard. What's your point? At least half or more of them are there because they think they can get a ring. They have enough talent and parent money to make it to any Div 1 corps but they choose to march Cadets because they think they can get the prize! And they just might get it this year. My problem with the Cadets has never been with the performers, but the Narration, Rabbits, Pink tables, Boxes, and Singing. I doubt that there are many of us here that dislike the Cadets simply because they are the cadets. It's because of the direction they are trying to take our beloved activity. Get a clue already!

Honestly - Amplification. I know - you have all heard it a thousand times. If it was limited to pit instruments only - and then done really really well it would be ok. The problem is it has opened up possibilities that have become just annoying. "drum speak" , narration, singing..... Enough said. Wasn't too fond of the switch from "G" Bugles either but that was much more understandable.

I feel pretty much the same exact way. My frustration is enhanced only because on the day of the Kalamazoo show AT&T cut the lines in my area and had no internet at showtime. In almost three years of High Speed DSL this is the first time it went out. I figured - what the heck? I can watch the En-Corps video in a few days - but they aren't going to provide that. So I'm out $90.00 and the only thing there is to do with that so far is watch Allentown over and over. Can't wait to see the different shows now to see how much cleaner they are.

I second that but I'll bet they will be fifth.

The new uniforms look great! As big a Scouts fan as I am I think I've been looking forward to seeing Crossmen as much or more this year. Come on July 21st! It can't come soon enough!.

Maybe they should try the next show without the narration and see how it does. What do you think the crowd reaction would be then? Do you think it would have a effect on the scores?

1979 for me! And pretty much everything BD put on the field up till the yowsa show.

Well, I don't think there's much chance of that happening unless you're going to the Houston or San Antonio shows. I'm really a pretty open minded guy but for some reason electronics in drum corps just rubs me the wrong way. It has since I first found out about it. I just figured it would open doors for more annoying things. I made peace with amped pits even though I though it unneccessary. Narration (or amped voice of any kind) just drives me up the wall. I just can't stand it. My opinion. By the way, my two favorite shows are Madison 1999 and Blue Devils 1979. Go figure.

How about a small, well-aimed EM pulse toward the soundboard? Might even up their score a bit! ampssuck

I do agree, even with the annoying narration, This year's Cadets show is far better than what they put on the field in 2005 and definitely better than Star '93.

Blue Devils will open up the spread a few ticks again tonight. As well they should.

I don't honestly think they will win it all. The Blue Devils showed again last night that the Cadets can be bested. Unfortunately, I think the Cadets will be in the top 5, unfortunate because the narration ruins the show. If they did win, It would be very unpopular. They are obviously drumming and blowing really well - that's a fact. Too bad there has to be narration.....

I will be in San Antonio for the show. Going to the Houston show two nights before, as well. Boy, I can't wait to get my drum corps fix.

A fun prediction but I think Madison is on the rise - As much as I wish the Troopers well this season, I think they are done nipping at Madison's heels.
