  1. well it is getting to the point that it is becoming very uncalled for and quite ignorant (the correct usage of the word = lacking knowledge) because many people who have stated these sentiments haven't even seen the Cadets more than ONCE this year...this does NOT qualify any of them an expert on the show that the Cadets is putting forward. I like the Cadets, obviously, and I understand everyone has their opinions...but you know, sometimes you can just not type it and think it in your head...because honestly always wanting them to "fail" just because you don't understand the show...is pretty lame...seriously it is...don't be lame...
  2. though i see it looking interesting...I still believe it will be Cavies BD PR Cadets SCV BLOO Cadets are closer to PR then BLOO or SCV...if they clean, which i'm sure they will...BLOO and SCV will NOT be able to take them...so let's just all remember who we are talking about: the late surge CADETS! THEY ARE FAMOUS FOR THIS!
  3. ugh...did you not read the WHOLE post...he basically cited that as a very good example of a dark horse, BUT ALL HE IS SAYING IS THAT THERE WILL NOT BE ONE THIS YEAR, in HIS opinion...goodness...read and comprehend people!
  4. how is that nice? i really do not understand when people have been saying "the cadets in 6th" that'd be a nice outcome...that really is not the best way of showing your distaste for a corps' show...and it actually sounds quite childish and immature...
  5. agreed...Hop won't bring that show...
  6. i think they do really need this...it would make life easier for us DCPers especially when there are verbal confrontations about judges favoring one corps over another....which really doesn't happen...right? ha
  7. not enough...i think the kids from the cadets are performing harder than anyone out there...yes, myabe the show is hard to sell....but many corps would not be able to do this well if they had the same show....seriously...the cadets are one that can make any show a contender....these kids are amazing and remember they are 80+ rookies!
  8. the cadets as always are a fear for many corps...i remember jeff fielder said that even though you are ahead in finals...the corps you are looking at from your shoulder is the ones wearing Maroon and Gold...because you never know what kind of crazy stuff they might start doing...and well...it's true...they will inch up...i'm sure...not first but at least 4, but it might surprise a few to see them up to number 2
  9. good review...why'd you fall asleep in the cadets for two minutes...?!?!?! is that right before the tea party...yes the Guard uniforms do not make them all that noticeable but if you watch 'em they are simply the best guard out there...
  10. its the average of the previous week...not that big of a deal...that's just the way it happens...being on 17 minutes earlier or later...is not going to give you a better score...
  11. an amazing show....very interesting....very engaging....one that cannot be stopped....one that will be a title-winner...the Cavaliers will win it this year...because they have the marchers and the guard....
  12. Amen to that...I think Hop will be quite proud of his corps and his staff...especially the 80+ rookies that he has...next year the Cadets are going to be AMAZING...so all those Cadet-haters...be prepared for another title year...I can just feel it...a lot of the members are really excited for finals and anticipating a great year next year...some of my friends said Hop has told them that he is so proud and blessed that he had such a determined, skilled, and dedicated bunch of kids...he told them all that this show he will always remember as being one of his favorites....indeed it will be remembered for being groundbreaking...gossip-causing...but all and all...it is about the kids...and they did a great job with what they were handed... GO MAROON AND GOLD!
  13. when it comes down to it though...i think that SCV and the Cadets have been in this place many many many times...the corps have a history and they will do their alum proud...Bloo I think will falter a little, not much, but enough for SCV to pass them and put them in 6th overall...
  14. true...but i think i was trying to state that a corps that had the budget and the members to present it correctly...i remember the magic show, in my opinion it was TOB Group IV at ACCs...nothing really great...
  15. true...should be interesting...but i'm thinking Cadets will take fourth...SCV either 5th or 6th...I'm rooting for 5th and BLOO will be 6th...but it is an exciting finals week...
  16. 2:30 p.m. 1. Pioneer 2:47 p.m. 2. Esperanza 3:04 p.m. 3. Pacific Crest 3:21 p.m. 4. The Magic 3:38 p.m. 5. Seattle Cascades 3:55 p.m. 6. Mandarins Intermission (60 minutes) 5:12 p.m. 7. Southwind * 5:29 p.m. 8. Capital Regiment 5:46 p.m. 9. Blue Stars 6:03 p.m. 10. Crossmen 6:20 p.m. 11. Colts 6:37 p.m. 12. Spirit 6:54 p.m. 13. Glassmen 7:11 p.m. 14. Madison Scouts 7:28 p.m. 15. Blue Knights Intermission (17 minutes) 8:02 p.m. 16. Carolina Crown 8:19 p.m. 17. Boston Crusaders 8:36 p.m. 18. Santa Clara Vanguard 8:53 p.m. 19. Bluecoats 9:10 p.m. 20. The Cadets 9:27 p.m. 21. Phantom Regiment 9:44 p.m. 22. Blue Devils 10:01 p.m. 23. The Cavaliers now the fun will begin....Cavies still got the final spot...but will that continue to finals? The Cadets are number four, but with Bloo and SCV right behind them...that should be an interesting race, but the Cadets are looking at PR hoping to get to them, but PR is on the doorstep of Cavies and BD...top six...very, very, very interesting....
  17. My predictions: 01 - The Cavaliers..."the machine" cannot and will not be stopped, not this year... 02 - Blue Devils..."the godfather" cannot execute the hit on the Cavies, so must finish at second 03 - Phantom Regiment...had a good few weeks at nipping at the top two spots, but i feel they will not be able to do it. 04 - The Cadets...most will not agree...but i feel that the Cadets will play their butts off and do amazing, maybe challenge PR 05 - Blue Coats...great finish...and hopefully will continue next year... 06 - Santa Clara Vanguard...I think they had a great surge at the end and could take BLOO out...but not any farther... 07 - Carolina Crown...looked pretty good at J. Birney, but won't be able to advance any further...should be worried about Boston 08 - Boston Crusaders...looks like they have a chance to overtake Crown, but cleaning is a must, and something that I don't think will happen... 09 - Blue Knights...looked pretty good at Allentown, Gmen shouldn't pose a threat 10 - Glassmen...Scouts will challenge..no doubt, but the Gmen will be able to hold off 11 - Madison Scouts...though I think they will be higher...their show is...dirty...except for percussion...whoa! 12 - Spirit...they got the last spot...the deserve it 13 - Colts...almost there, but not good enough to get to the finals...maybe next year? 14 - Crossmen....wishing they were higher....but very dirty... 15 - Capital Regiment...will be nipping at Xmen's feet... 16 - Blue Stars...I think they will fall comfortable in number 16..but could get up to 14 easily if Xmen and Stars have a bad night. 17 - Mandarins...good show...will give them 17...no higher or lower... 18 - Southwind 19 - Seatle 20 - Pac. Crest 21 - the Magic 22 - Esperanza 23 -Pioneer...maybe next year???????????
  18. Number Four is quite interesting...I really do not see the Scouts pursuing PotC...but you never know...personally I do not believe that any corps will do that show for a long while, if ever...it would be enjoyable and I'm sure it would be amazing...suggest it to the corps....i'm sure they need ideas...especially with another off year....
  19. I think Hoppy is going to look at the +s and -s of what the Cadets did this year...and will only add more things if he deems fit...as he said in the blog...people will remember the Cadets 2006, no matter what...for good or bad...no matter what....it will be interesting to see what show they pick next year....any REAL thoughts?
  20. Madison has, and always will be, a fan favorite...just as much Xmen is for the DCI East circuit...Madison Scouts is where old and new corps fans can come together and agree that these guys have a good mix and are still screamin' those notes out....
  21. Regiment this year has had some intonation problems as the same with Cadets and the Cavies in particular...their lower brass is one of the best, i would say...their sops...have hard times blending together in the higher ranges of the notes, and bending and the "crass" sound becomes evident. Regiment this year, however, is the best they've been in a while...
