  10. Hahaha Yep, I heard some things like that too haha. I just kinda stood there like :
  11. Ahhh, it was terrible. I felt like it was such a waste of time. I stood there 95% of rehearsal as the director would attempt to fix the woodwinds or try to add some move or something. It was nice hearing all of the "Wow! you're skinny/tan/good!" It was really hot though, wearing clothes. I usually wore really tiny shorts, and it kinda made some girls mad...whatever. It took a long while getting used to dressing to blobs, not using our dot sheets, people playing out of tune, 109820398 different marching styles around me, NO BASICS block ?!?!, and really, really stupid staff. I mostly kept quiet, or reminisced with my fellow corps mates. It was a LONG marching season.
  12. Well, i'm just deciding whether to go to the Indy audition camp over the Charlotte. (I'd preferably go the the Texas one, since i'm in OK. but phantom is the same weekend.) I don't know which to do.
  13. When corps have one-day audition camps in different cities, would your chances of getting a callback heighten/lower due to the lesser attendance numbers? Would it be easier to be noticed? Rather than 400+ people at a "home" audition.
  14. Our new uniforms were NOT free, but we got them at a very, very good price. :( i had an amazing summer. I love you, Southwind.
  15. It was like a few days before Pasadena, and Southwind still didn't get a housing site from DCI, so they put us up in hotels for the last week. =) It was amazing. But we had to bus to our rehearsal site an hour away.
  16. I'm auditioning for a trumpet spot in the 2008 Carolina Crown hornline, and man, am I excited. =)
  17. 1) BE CONFIDENT. My best friend told me how her guy friend tried out for Blue Devils, blew his playing audition..and they told him the only reason he made it was because he was so confident. and his confidence through out the season bled into his effort, and he became one of the top Euph players they had. 2)DO AS THE VETS DO. They've already been through this stuff and marched many seasons. They know what's going on. Like someone else said, even if the rookies aren't, just do what the majority of vets are doing. 3) DON'T APOLOGIZE. Don't be sorry for anything, just do it right next time. Just say "oh okay, thanks" when you get a correction, and then try to implement it. 4) DON'T SAVE ANYTHING. Especially in visual/cardiovascular stuff. it's only 1 weekend. You'll be able to rest for a whole month when you get back, so don't save anything. Give it your all. This is your chance to show the staff you belong there. 5)DON'T BE NERVOUS. Don't let nerves get to you. Take a few deep breaths before you go in. Practice up so you can be comfortable in your audition. Play for friends, family, and instructors to get the nerves out. Your audition is a performance, so perform. Also, drink alot of water the day before your audition and alot in the morning (be sure to go to the bathroom before though) because when you get nervous, you sweat and lose water. I always get thirsty when i'm nervous. hope i could help :)
  18. Same here, once I learned to see past the narration, I realized how great of a show it was. It has some of my favorite moments in the season in it.
  19. Anyone know how i can get my hands on one 2007 Allentown patch? :(
