  1. I am currently an undergrad at UGA and there are several that have recently marched DCI. These are the ones I know of. Including myself, I know of eleven that have marched Carolina Crown (including a drum major). I also know of four Cadets, several from Spirit, one from Capital Regiment, five or six Cavaliers (including a field conductor, but not the Drum Major from 2001 and 2003), one went to Vanguard, one went to Blue Devils, four went to Phantom (including the 2003 conductor), one from colts, one went to magic (one of the drum majors in 2005?), and a handful of open class members. It is also cool to note that of the four band directors one marched Madison 81-84, another marched Phantom 91-94 and was conductor at some point, and another marched Cadets 88-90 and I think he was the trumpet soloist in the 1990 show. Also, a former director marched Blue Knights in the early 90s. UGA also has had a handful of corps staff. Hope that helps.
  2. The crowd was great!!! It showed that the south loves drum corps. As a corps member, I loved the Atlanta show. Not only was it my home show, but the crowd was one of the best all year.
  3. I marched this past summer, and I was called off the field for the great flood of 2006. I did get the chance to see a couple of shows from my friends seats in the upper deck later that night. I thought the Georgia Dome worked well for DCI. My friends and family loved every moment (except when they were flooded) and are going back. I have seen several High School and College Bands and a few Drum corps preform there, and I always enjoy it. The sound quality is not bad like some of the smaller domes.
  4. So Far.... Crown (I can't wait to see them) Cadets Spirit (does anyone have any idea what they will look like) Bluecoats Southwind???? Could Phantom go back to black? Could Crossmen get new unis with all the changes made in the corps? (That is infact one of the ways crown established itself as diffrent from 2002 in 2003.) Will Madison change their look again? Blue Knights are overdue for a new uniform, but I like the ones they have now. Will Troopers change their look any?
  5. Go Crown 06!!!!! I hope it makes it to the big screen this year. It would be a great pay off for a summer of hard work and great people. However, I am a little biased. :) My votes 89 Phantom Regiment 91 Star of Indiana 93 Star of Indiana 95 Cavaliers 00 Cavaliers 00 Cadets 02 Cavaliers 06 Carolina Crown
  6. All southern college marching bands are not that style. Their are many corps style southern college marching bands (ie Alabama, Georgia, LSU, FSU, Auburn, Arkansas, etc...) Infact, these bands are some of the best corps style college bands you will find. The style you are talking about is called HBCU marching band.
  7. Brass Matt Harloff Donnie VanDoren Ben Harloff Larry Shane Michael Klesch and the entire Carolina Crown Brass Staff. There are too many to elaborate on or name, but they are all great musicians, teachers, and people. They could always get us to reach new heights, and I believe that is what they will do in the future. Visual Ralph Stewart Bob Medworth (Uncle Bob) Nick Smith Like the Brass the whole visual staff was great. I just spent most of my time with these guys. I learned a lot from these guys, and they pushed me to always be my best.
  8. Phantom only has three buttons above and three buttons below their sash.
  9. How did you make these graphics they look very good. I could use the template for a project of my own. Please let me know.
  10. I marched Crown this summer and we did not use citation chords. We also had unpainted white shoes and standard white gloves. BTW the plumes were in-fact centered.
  11. Then how were the repertoire numbers so high all season? With All due respect, that does not add up.
  12. I aged out of crowns hornline this summer. Their were only six hornline ageouts.
  13. I aged out of Crown this summer. If I could I would return. I Love the corps and I love the staff. As competitive as I am, the crowd’s response to our performance and our scores on finals night gave me a better feeling than getting 6th or 7th would have. A handful of judges may have misjudged us, but the thousands of people in the stands can't be wrong. Once we were out of the stadium after retreat, many Star of Indiana and Crown alums came to congratulate us on three great performances during finals week. When we were walking back to the busses, many members of the Mandarins (I think) met us on the sidewalk to cheer us on. These moments made my finals night a night I will always remember. People will remember the show and the corps, but scores and placements will soon be forgotten.
