  1. The Cotton Bowl was no bargain had some concerns about the MMs invading that area. Then the soccer field in Rochester where you need to walk around the block to access the staging area in the back (as a fan).
  2. Making a giant leap in comparison and not being that well versed in the details of PS. Joe Paterno was my hero followed PS was happy they would come to Giants Stadium for a home game now and then. To see where his legacy is today, I can't even watch the Joe Paterno movie. I know in Joe's case people were abused and whatever happened to Joe was necessary. In Fred's case hiring Moody by just knowing his past is enough to remove him from the Crossmen, then the news came forth in Tricia's article about the digital footprint debacle. That's the first time I found out about that. It took the need for him to go to a higher level. Just rambling on here. Being a student of DCP I noticed when casual members weigh in on the deception it's so egregious that their common sense reaction is he needs to go. I think that sums up the man on the streets view. Since dci in most folks minds did not go far enough with allowing him to keep his position in the Crossmen. Dci sort of painted themselves into a corner revisiting the situation w/o new information. That they didn't use the digital scrub as new information to justify further action. Fred being at the meeting is not a good sign that they plan on doing anything further, I hope I am worng.
  3. MikeD what power you have updating a closed thread, appreciate the input, thanks. It's not unusual for me to be confused about issues so here goes. NDA's at times protect the victims from reliving the trauma in public forums and could have been the reason they came forward, knowing the details would be sealed. Do the victims still have the option of NDA's?
  4. It's confusing, they have been suspended then I read on here that it needs to become official at the meeting. Then there were discussions on whether Romans name appeared in any of the press releases specifically naming him.
  5. In Montreal, we stayed at a campsite site on the edge of town a stone's throw from the subway. Took us everywhere McGill and the big stadium. In Miami, after Cadets won I lost my mind. Left the Orange Bowl and got totally lost could not get back to the hotel. Finally pulled into a rest stop, called a cab gave him 20 bucks up front and said we needed to follow him told him there would be a big tip when he got us there. Still living that one down.
  6. I know back in the fall terms like bargain basement drum corp, lowest dues in World Class were commonplace did that change since then?
  7. Do you think that there will be blurbs about the discussions on the dci website? Sure will be a fun time on DCP taking all this in.
  8. Back in the fall when DCP beat this frog to death, a parade corps for 2019 was their only viable option we were correct. The shock and outrage now are because there was no clean break from RB. That we learned is difficult since his personal holdings and the corps holdings have been intermingled. That's a discussion dci/corps BODs should or are having to not let individual and corps finances get all mucked up. Like the corps, BODs needs to look into the financial impact that severance packages could have on the yearly budget maybe purchase an annuity or other financial instruments that would absorb the cost over time. Not that I think YEA owes GH a dime but under other circumstances, a large severance payment takes some forethought and planning. It would be reasonable to believe that dci will provide Pioneer with a list of requirements for their return. The lost of the lowest cost corps may eliminate some kids, other choices were there when they joined Pioneer I would suspect that it was the low cost that drove them there.
  9. I liked over the years how quick great music would hit the field. For instance, according to Wikipedia the first hint of the music for Les Miserables was: The 1980 musical, by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg. The Les Miserables play didn't appear till a few years later. The Blue Stars brought this to the field in 1987, then Boston in 88, The Cadets in 89. A pretty quick turn around for some great music. Recently I would say Creep by Radiohead was pretty quick and I am sure other popular songs were brought to the field quickly as well. Like some of the music in this thread could be soon.
  10. Fantastic that you go there for entertainment, I do the same and find it enlightening to keep track of music trends. There is a lot of great music out there today for drum corps.
  11. Is this the "dci plunge protection planet" Oh your not thickheaded you did point that out. I am not out to meet friendly folks and many of my friends that tried that didn't think they are that friendly. The mission is the help clean up drum corps and we all have our own way of doing so, you don't need to like it..
  12. Are you thickheaded I don't have facebook and have a devoted following here why would I give all that up?
  13. Not suggestions it's the posture. If dci thinks Fred is in the way he would not be at the meeting. They didn't wait to January to kick him off the board, put Cadets on probation or suspend Pioneer. They can still oust Crossmen and make that happen. Then that sets the tone of the meeting. Short of that happening from their perspective all indicators are that they already dealt with Fred, a non-issue at the meeting.
  14. Let me tell you what is sad about all this. I and I am not the only one on DCP that is being prepped for "The Big Bother Chinese Social Media Behavioral Rating" How am I doing I know I won't be the poster of the year but can my kid march in a decent Corp or does he need to wait for Pioneer?
  15. Good perspective past expertise outside the arts can help guide the activity in a positive direction. Dci can learn that from Corps that went that route in their management to great success (seen corps interviews pushing that point). Watching the Mummers the other day had me thinking about how they stayed on course. It's still a hobby but they have worldwide notoriety, travel aboard and have a free televised event. One thing odd is after the first 6 bands the judges get a chance to alter the scores? Not comparing dci to Mummers but they do seem to draw from each other nowadays,
  16. This has been brought up before. There are such things as video/audio conference calls that are used to address burning issues in business, every day. Maybe they do meet that way and don't see this as a burning issue? It's only DCP/REDDIT that is all worked up. We are pleased with the reports out of the camps that it is business as normal but will be very displeased if the meetings proceed that way. Waiting for the meeting is not a positive sign that dci will do the right thing.
  17. No, just a clean, fun, family orientated activity for over 100 years. I am not an expert on the Mummers, just a fan, was a great show they even had a band for the first time wear show attire. They also never had disgruntled fans worrying about whether they were recognizable from year to year. I never paid much attention to String Bands when they marched in parades with us in the 60's. They also came a long way but stayed grounded to their principals more than other activities.
  18. I don't deserve this attention but thanks. I am too busy looking past all this nonsense to get to folks that deserve the abuse that I get here. But if one point, one comment hits home from any of us on DCP, it's a good day and worth it, if I need to have a target on my back then so be it, I am a big boy.
  19. Ramble On good song. I respect your comments and the fact that you Terri, George and I am sure there are others that just don't anonymously hide behind a keyboard, that takes courage today. Terri knows who I am my name is Doug Medina so if folks here who want to waste their time psychoanalyzing me they have a real person to attack go for it. I just hope BRASSO does not charge too much for his services. My objective is to get to movers and shakers running dci which we know come here to read our comments. It's easy enough just to ignore me. But sending me a photo of a crying baby that was funny but me responding with another funny about the sandbox is looked at in isolation and BRASSO thinks I should live the afterlife in hell because I didn't play well in the sandbox, that is also funny. With all due respect to the veterans of DCP my comments are not directed at you, they are directed at dci through the only means I have to get to them.
  20. Think you hit that on the head a multi-million dollar Organization. Case in point The Mummers they still fly under the radar like drum corps did with tresona and play the same music. Follow the money it opens eyes.
  21. Controversy, keep it coming maybe we will figure out this is about the kids. WEB, WOW what's the difference if I wrote it.
  22. I know that but don't understand the reaction to the term dark web. What Fred did was evil and very dark so is it the term web that has folks worked up? That this evil part of the internet exists to ruin folks lives or in this case not ruin them?.
  23. I am with you Hockey Dad it's all muddied up. What happened, happened no question. There is more to the story and we all hope the ending is were Fred leaves the activity.
