  1. Thanks for the long input BoyWonder1911! Didn't really think of history bias as a factor. Kind of sucks that there is some but there's probably nothing that can be done about it. I just wish I understood the whole judging process more. Seems like grueling work.
  2. Been following for over a decade now but still have trouble understanding the intricacies of design and stuff. The Top 6 were just so amazeballz this year that I would have enjoyed a championship for ANY of them (but moreso for SCV cuz I'm a homer like that lol). Anyway, on to the questions: If the Top 6 were equivalent in performance, execution, and/or talent, how would the shows have placed? Like if they all scored 10s across the board on execution, would the design pretty much separate the champion from the rest? And if so, how would you have placed each corps in terms of design and why?
  3. Don't know if anyone has done this yet but OP... here's a screenshot for you to count!!
  4. I probably should have been more clear. The champion corps, regardless of their placement at Stanford, went on to win DCI in their respective year. I don't believe that any other show that is not a regional, TOC, nor Prelims-Finals show can claim that they have hosted the eventual champion since their show's inception.
  5. I wonder how much cleaner SCV would look with a traditional marching style like BD/Cadets...
  6. For a non-regional, non-TOC, and non-Q/S/Finals show, the DCI West show at Stanford (began in 2007) has hosted EVERY eventual champion since its inception. Are there any other shows out there that can match this? 2007: Blue Devils 2008: Phantom Regiment 2009: Blue Devils 2010: Blue Devils 2011: The Cadets 2012: Blue Devils 2013: Carolina Crown 2014: Blue Devils 2015: Blue Devils Yeah yeah, I know it helps that this is a BD home show but hey, call me out on my shameless attempt to bring more corps to the west coast (namely, Stanford) instead! If history does repeat itself, then if a corps wants a better chance at winning the title, come to Stanford. Pretty please?
  7. Hmmm... gotta disagree with you there on the last show... honestly--this was such a great season it doesn't even matter who won it out.
  8. nah he's just a bitter Billy. Of all the petitions one can make, he makes one for something that in the end, doesn't really matter in this world. It's like making a petition that professional athletes of major sports get paid too little.
  9. Wow, awesome BD, congrats! One more title and you'll be a legal adult!
  10. I'm no BD die-hard that's for sure. My heart belongs to SCV but seriously.. it gets tiresome to read people saying BD this and BD that. Everything that guy said was something MANY have mentioned before... topics are written about it and it's all over the reviews. It's like geez, everyone parks and barks and everyone hauls arse while playing as well--there's so much more to drum corps than how much a specific corps plays and moves. So if anything, you guys give it a rest---you are loud enough that everyone knows how you all feel about BD so let's just leave it at that. Even good jokes, when repeated often enough, get tiresome. It's like how so many people are hating on the Golden State Warriors and how if they were to face a full Cleveland squad, they'd lose but the truth is that no one really knows---matchups change and adjustments are made. Anyway, /rant.
  11. 62-to-1 Odds. If this was at the Mercedez-Benz Superdome, 4-to-1.
  12. Actually, with all the dark pants in the top 5... the Cadets only look cleaner than SCV... but that's just from video so difficult to say.
  13. Check your mailboxes if you signed up on the list, my lovelies.
  14. Have you put yourself on "the list" yet? If not, send a message my way! It'll be a surprise.
  15. Well, I don't drink alcohol unfortunately lol so I'll take some food or a ticket to Cedar Point, Disney World, etc.
