The vocals, as explained to us so far, seem like they are going to have a big impact with the show. They seem like they are going to add to the show. Just try to have an open mind about it. No one knows what the vocals are going to be yet, but hey, if they actually add to the show, I think it will be cool.

Yep. This is my 5th year and I have one more after this.

No, yes and yes. 1) I just don't think speakers inside the pit would help. It was designed to make the pit louder so leave em where people can hear em. 2 and 3) Sometimes shows just need more time. Some shows are so cut off that they need the extra time.....even if it is just 30 sec.

I said no, no and no. The amped voice is not a brass instrument, so shouldn't be judged as one. I have always liked pre-show stuff. I don't see why it should stop. The third I was iffy about, but I just feel like it really wouldn't add or take things away to require a hometown to be announced and thus really would help progres the activity.

Yeah Chip was caption head last year too. My choice: Cadets!

Spirit has a partnership with Jacksonville State University. For a while the Marching Southerners and Spirit shared instuments, an instrument trailer and what not. In turn, spirit provided JSU with prospective students and really put the school's name out there. So I guess if you want to consider it a "college" corps you can since they are associated with JSU. But not all members have to go to the school to be apart of it. If I said something wrong PLEASE CORRECT ME!

Just don't be nervous. Chip is a great guy and a great trumpet player. Try to learn something new while you are there. Oh yeah...AND HAVE FUN!!!

Why should that rule be made? Some people think they they don"t have the strongest visual programs and some people think that their shows are hit and miss. TO me 03 was a hit....then 04 was a miss. So I, along with everyone else, am entitled to my opinions. Just because we don"t agree with your opinions doesn"t mean we are wrong.....it just means that we have opinions.

Haha never done this as a member but thought it would be fun to try.... 1) Cadets - Cause I'm there b**bs 2) BD - Good show last year. Looking forward to another good one 3) Cavies - Really not too impressed now with the show, but I'm sure they will be great 4) Phantom - Their shows to me are just hit then miss hit then miss. Maybe they'll prove me wrong 5) Bluecoats - Great corps. Looking forward to the show. 6) SCV - Only pt them there b/c of the loss of their visual caption head. 7) Crown - Great brass just lacking percussion. If they get that caption down.....wow. 8) Madison - Even with the audition camp numbers I think they are going to be great. 9) Spirit - Eh I marched there, I can be A LITTLE biased :P 10) BK - I'm sure I will be proved wrong, but their shows aren't always my favorites. 11) BAC - Their shows aren't always the most solid but they perform the heck out of them 12) Blue Stars - Great corps looking to make the big show. I don't see why they won't. 13) Colts 14) Glassmen 15) Crossmen 16) Academy 17) Troopers 18) Southwind 19) Cascades 20) Mandarins 21) Pacific Crest 22) Pioneer Hope I didn't leave anyone off!

I see what you are saying. I'm sure once all their song choices have been announced I may warm up to the show. They are the Cavaliers, they are going to be great. I just hope that this show can live up to the shows set up through this decade.....that's my biggest worry about it.

Cavies Cadets (obviously) Madison Spirit (again obviously)

I think they do a great job showing the concepts (machine, spin cycle are my favs) but I just don't consider a Billy Joel show to be thrown in with the shows like Frameworks and Four Corners and such. I think this years show has to be based more on music than the concept of the show.

Yeah I think the most effective use of it so far is 05 drumspeak in the Cadets.....but that's just my opinion.

I voted undecided. I don't hate it, I just don't think it has been used effectively yet. I'm waiting for that one group to do it and everyone agrees it fits and ADDS to the show.

Vets haven't been to any camp yet.....so there may be a better number of people than you think ^_^ guess we'll see together.....i'm anxious to get back! b**bs

Yeah man go for it. Hop is a great guy to talk to. He always has really great things to say. Just be real respectful of his time. He is a very busy man. And for that nasty comment earlier....... Hop is a person just like you and me. It's ok to disagree with his decisions and choices, but there is absolutely no need to post on here with hateful comments towards the man. Anyways I'm done. Have fun meeting him....

Now that the dvd's are out, how about we get some reviews of the shows after seeing them from different angles.....
