  1. If you were to start a Drum Corps, how would you raise the funds needed to be successful?
  2. How much money does Bingo really bring in for a Drum Corps to use? How many corps are actually using Bingo as a fundraising source and for corps that don't use Bingo, how are they financed? Just wondering... Another side question, Which Corps have Bingo Halls and which do not?
  3. Well, without looking like to big of a jerk, i will retract my statements and go ahead and say it's mostly my computer's fault. Except for the Troopers show being unlinked which was the only reason I got on fan network! lol. Oh well, in the long run it is still nice to see the shows. Mike

  6. I was thinking about this the other day! Aside from the host being kind of a strange dude, I totally agree that it be awesome for DCI. Mike Gough Troop 2001-2004 http://www.hellbentforvictory.com

  8. 1985-2000. But I think things are starting to get good again. I'm willing to bet that 2010-2020 is going to be pretty #### good.
  9. For the record. When Troopers folded, people did rise up. Now the corps is in the Top 12 for the first time in 23 years. Velvet Knights are small but they aren't gone. And if Blue Stars can be an example they had like 20 kids in the corps back in 2004. Now, they too are in the top 12. Madison hasn't folded, and hopefully the new changes they have made will stick this time and get them back into the top 12. So I really think that the days of old school drum corps' making a comeback are happening.
  10. I would also like to point out that the corps folded in 2006 and returned way bigger and way stronger in 2007. They made all the changes needed to set up a platform for their return to semi-finals in 08 and finally a return to finals in 2009. How many corps have folded and made that kind of comeback in such a short time frame? This is no one hit wonder return. The Troopers are here to stay. They have an extremley solid foundation with very talented people running the board and the corps itself. As a matter of fact, most of the board include those that were in the corps during their top 12 years. And the people designing the show are among the most respected in the world. They brought you world championships at Vanguard and Cavaliers. They also brought you multiple BOA championships and the all time high score with Avon High School. If you simply look at the trends of what is happening at Troopers you will easily see that the corps is going nowhere but UP. The Troopers are back to their roots. When I say roots, I'm talking about inovation and success. Again, the corps we knew and loved. Mike
  11. The 90's and early 2000's were not so hot. I know, I was there. But, this was not always the case. The Troopers pre 1986 were a top 12 corps almost all of the time minus a few years in between. And, if you at all count pre-DCI the Troopers were the deal. Nobody could touch them. I have no real need to stand up and defend the corps anymore. They are top 12 corps now (Like the Troopers we knew and loved), and they will be staying that way for a while I do think. If you do want to call the Troopers out on being a little itty bitty corps that finished 17th place every year, I recommend you learn some drum corps history before you continue to look ignorant. P.S. For the record, they were 17th place two times in their fifty-two year history. They were in finals a hell of a lot more than that.

Mike
  15. I have the original Dave Richards 1979 Troopers prelims tape. I'm talking about the famous one. I ain't talking about a copy of it. I have THE original on my shelf. Mike Gough
