  1. Bottom line is that if you base things on raw score alone, Bucs are 2.2 points ahead of Cabs according to the Spandy thread. And given the fact that the homers were all talking about how "huge" a .8 spread was just 2 weeks ago, looks like the season is over, huh?
  2. And as we all know, raw score...especially from show to show...means everything.
  3. No making excuses for the Bucs here. They have won a show and lost two. The spreads were tight in each show but somewhat consistent. Cabs are simply achieving their program a tad better at this point of the season than anyone else. Bearing in mind that I have seen nobody EXCEPT Cabs, I think this is going to come down to the corps who has the highest potential level of achievement.
  4. They are basically stationary from minute 8 thru minute 12 of their program.
  5. Understanding of course that even Madison moves more than Cabs. And this is not necessarily a bad thing, 'cause I always thought that perhaps the Cabs moved a little TOO much in recent years. But if you put out a program like that in DCI you would have your head handed to you.
  6. Were there ever ANY Fusion fans going "on and on" about the Cabs watching out for them?
  7. Ah yes....the original question. Show you an example of a slightly perturbed Cabs "honk"? Lovindrumcorps....just a few posts north.
  8. Actually, I have congratulated the Cabs and made some nice comments praising their tenacity and competitiveness. I only saw Cabs show on video at the Grand Prix. Thought it was pretty good stuff for this time of year. The midsection of the program sort of reminded me of 2011 MBI, which I'm sure to some of you is a compliment. ###### off honk?.....hardly.
  9. Cab "honks" definitely get a tad perturbed when someone picks their corps in second place....
  10. I should apologize to MBI and absolutely beg forgiveness from Empire, or Edge....or whatever they are calling themselves. But seriously Cab fans...give yourselves some time to celebrate and enjoy. And leave judging complaints to those corps who lost.
  11. And of course, leave it up to the Cab homers...who after having their heads handed to them for the better part of a decade, FINALLY hand the Bucs their first regular season loss since 2005, and all the homers can do is ##### about how Cabs got hosed in percussion. It's politics I tell you!!
  12. 3 things. Number one...this is the first time Bucs have been defeated in a regular season show since 2005, and folks are griping about the spread?...Seriously!? Number two...an 8 tenth spread is NOT huge. And number three...CONGRATULATIONS CABS!
  13. Ok folks...calm down and step away from the keyboard. First...Fusion is NOT going to beat Cabs at their home show...ain't happening. Second...Fusion most definitely will not beat the Bucs. Third...Cabs may beat the Bucs at their home show, especially with the crowd jonesing to see the Bucs lose their first regular season contest since 2005! Last time DCA had this kind of anticipation was 2011 DCA prelims/finals! Most likely Bucs win.
  14. Folks are just jealous because Mr. Ream is always right!
  15. Certainly I might have been a tad crass with my comment however the fact is that in this economy if John Q. Drumcorps is going to spend over $100 between tickets, transportation, refreshments and souvenirs to see just one or maybe 2 shows a year, he will want to spend his money to see a show with the top competitors/contenders. So given the choice between what is now the Barnum Festival and the Grand Prix or Scranton...guess who wins? It's a shame because BITD the Barnum was a major prestige show and title. And like it or not, the Bucs have got to be considered one of the top draws in the circuit ...if not THE top draw. And to have one of your top draws competing in only six shows is definitely killing shows such as the Barnum. Perhaps it's time for DCA to take this into consideration and work with the corps to create a more compelling slate for these once iconic shows. It this a sad fact? Certainly it is. But it is a fact.
  16. Somebody wake me up when it's time for the Grand Prix....zzzzzzzzzzzz
  17. Perhaps I should clarify what I was trying to point out with my comment. After the Wildwood show, one of the "judges" in the audience indicated that they thought Cabs should have swept the captions and won the show by 3 points! I was trying to point out that apparently the folks who actually get paid to judge must have a completely different view of things at this early point of the season. Of course, I agree that it is a great thing to see Fusion in the mix, but anyone who could say that they would have expected to see Fusion within sniffing distance of the Cabs would likely be lying.
  18. Seriously though...it certainly has been a schizophrenic first 2 weeks of the season! First week you got folks saying Cabs should have caption swept the Bucs and won by 3 points. Second week Cabs can't even throw down a caption sweep against Fusion Corps,...who BTW are so far the REAL story this season. Hopefully the judges get a good nights sleep before Grand Prix, and hopefully Big W will be in attendance!
  19. And not only did they change the uniform...from what I have been told they actually change the uniform during the course of the show! To black no less! Groundbreaking stuff!!
  20. So indicating that at every show they have entered over the last several years, Bucs have been the class of the field makes me "pro-Bucs"? I'm simply calling it as I, or anyone else with any kind of Drum Corps accumen would see it. And I indicated on another thread what a good thing it is for the circuit to finally have some sense of competition for the championship. One thing is for sure...a LOT of tickets will be sold for the Grand Prix!
  21. So, anyone got any reviews other than "I thought Cabs should have won"? I saw the Scranton show a few years back, where Bucs could have walked off the field, got on their buses and went home after their opener and still won by 5 points....and folks in the stands thought Empire took the show! Thank god we have judges! And Empire and Minnesota have a reputation of parking a lot? Who would have thunk it, huh?
  22. And they're truckin' around that field pretty good! Percussion looks excellent just based on the short clips!
