Same here bro....

I think you mean "listening."
-
I think it's because we were actually able to watch the performance last night instead of waiting to find out how things are going.

No such thing as free speech on DCI.org

Yeah they did the same for me as I had sort of the same problem. -

I don't think it's disingenuous of them at all. They didn't do that back in the early 2000s and now it seems people are using it like it's DCP. If someone who had never heard of drum corps were to log on there just out of curiousity, those comments would probably make them biased against whatever corps to which the comments were directed..though just my opinion. -

Oh crap, I didn't realize that. Oh well. Sorry. -

Sure it's your right. Go ahead and boo. Most people will just talk about how much of a jack ### you are. So go right ahead. Oh wait you won't be able to do that since you won't be at finals. Ahh well. By the way, in which corps did you march? -
What it takes to win a DCI championship
2000Cadet replied to oldbandguy's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Let's try not turning this into another Cadets thread. Anyway, Mr. Cook is definitely correct about that. Just like winning sports teams know what it takes to win championships, the same applies to drum corps in my opinion. -

You are definitely right about that, which makes this season exciting to right. -

Took the words right out of my mouth. Anyways, I really don't care what this guy says anymore. Thank GOD he's not a judge because The Cadets' scores would be in the toilet. Seems to me the judges, The Cadets brass staff and everyone else who knows about horns knows exactly what they are doing. So if the Cadets win, that'll be great. If not, I'll still be satisfied with their sound. -

You're right about that. I wouldn't be surprized if BD took it tonight. Seems like this is the season for different winners every night. -

I really don't care how simple Cavies horn book is. They still give me goosebumps when I hear them play. I just like to think they have a different sound that is unique to them, just like Cadets have a sound that is unique to them. I wouldn't call thier sound "incorrect" just because you like Cavies more than Cadets. Either way, both corps are still great, and through the years they have shown that. -

While some people do agree with you, I'd like to know what you all thought of BD in the 90s seeing as how Gino came from BD to teach Cadets. Did they sound "horrible" as well? I don't think so. And I wouldn't refer to you as a pip-squeak either. It's just your opinion and you are entitled to it. But if the Cadets hornline sounds horrible, what does that say about everyone else who have lost to Cadets hornline in the past? I am sure the other hornlines are great as well so I don't really agree with your statement about Cadets hornline. -

So am I. My newbie has heard great things about drum corps and has always wanted to see it live. So I am glad she'll get a chance to see finals. -

I totally agree with you. This is one of the best years in DCI. So many great shows to watch, it's hard to take it all in one sitting. I am just so glad I'll be at finals this year to witness all that talent. -

Woah, incorrect brass playing? That's a first. I'll let Gino know how incorrect you THINK it is. Funny how the judges don't think it's incorrect. But whatever. Cadets are still good regardless. -

Good point. I am not saying we should be okay with it, however stuff happens sometimes. Hey I complained to them and I got a refund (given it was PPV, but still). So what do you suggest they do to compensate people then? -

I think Zeke had a good idea, but that still wouldn't compensate everyone for tonight's performance. -

Now that's DEFINITELY a good idea as they could have cost DCI a huge amount of money in refunds. -

Well they did offer you a refund so I am not sure what else you want them to do to compensate you. I mean it sucks that we had problems tonight, but that's to be expected with computers and internet and bandwidth and drum corps.
