  1. Nope, Cadets have been on the wrong foot for 74 years.
  2. How about the $50 you guys offer go to Madison instead? I'll call our guard prancers if it gets the corps money j/k but seriously....
  3. I ended up getting refitted 4 or 5 times, usually because the sewing crew would walk around and check out tight our uni's are a couple shows before a big regional. What ever you do, don't get your uni refitted in the deep south, aka, Mississippi, Alabama, etc. The air is so thick to the point that it hurts to breathe, or at least it did for me. As to the OT, From what I've heard compared to other corps, we eat pretty dad gum well in Madison. 4 meals a day. I agree as well to one of the girls that replied saying that our on tour/camp meals are filled with more carbs than "at home" meals. And she's definitely right about not counting calories or being picky. Just eat the stinkin food! haha. I would usually have 1 serving and a PB+J for every meal, and that usually held me over. In 2006, I lost 25 lbs, going from 195 to 170, and going from a 36 waist to a 32. I certainly plan though to have a greater loss here in the off-season and to work harder during season to drop that excess weight. PS-DONT EAT TURKEY BEFORE A BLOCK!!! You'll regret it. I promise.
  4. Actually, I believe the heart and what not may be in reference to the marriage proposal that went down. It was a really big deal for the weekend, PM me for a link of it if you wanna see. But you never know. I could be wrong.
  5. I'm gonna add on to the "don't worry about it" remark before. You'll knows stuff later this year. I pinky promise. Just have some patience. As well with the proposal Jason mentioned, it was a complete surprise to her. Her being Rebecca Hershman(Carmen from the 2005 show) and the proposing guy being Jon Newcomb (FMM, as well as the guy you've seen on the side of our trucks for the past few years). It was an awesome experience to see that happen.
  6. I'm a CMM, I just haven't updated my signature. I'll do that now.
  7. I learned this weekend that we're surrounded by geniuses. It was ridiculous what went down. I am so excited to be a Madison Scout right now.
  8. Funny this is brought up. Our backfield conductor attends the main campus of Rutgers. Apparently it's a really big research school, big enough to pay for you to research something. As I understand it, Rutgers is paying a good chunk, if not all of his corps dues to research the level of stress and such on the mind and body of someone who marches drum corps.
  9. This is all true. I went to Creekview High School, their rival, and I was actually in high school when this all went down. Their drill team the Troyannes** are both the drill team and the colorguard for the marching band. PM me if you want to know the story behind it.
  10. I know I've seen our DM and other DM's do it, so I assume it's stock, but it's always nice to see a little boy or girls face light up when he/she gets asked to hold the aussie/helmet/shako
  11. I don't see that at all lol. and i dont like where your head is at either
  12. aaaand this is actually still on topic when speaking about Madison style. Along with our style comes our class, and honestly Jason, as a brother, I'm a bit ashamed at your attack. Especially recently(as in the past 10+ years) I know SW and Madison have had a great relationship, what with SW being apart of MDBCA, as well as "events" when they share housing sites... :peek: (madison bro's and sw should understand that smiley very well). And to have such a good relationship between two corps, and say things like that? I think it's time we put our testosterone away for a second and actually think before we speak. I dont know how many more cliche's I can say about representing our corps correctly and saying/doing the right thing, but I'll finish with saying that. DO THE RIGHT THING. I hope all the brothers on here can really have a grasp on what the right thing really is. Lots of great great people from Southwind with us this year. Awesome players and marchers with phenomenal spirits and attitudes. I cant wait for Feburary camp.
  13. Dallas Texans actually turned into the Kansas City Chiefs.
  14. Is the one being offered with the discount rechargable? Looking at it, it says nothing about the pump being rechargable, as far as i can see, while alot of their other products highlight the fact that they have a rechargable pump. EDIT: and I would assume that that is the main one we're all speaking about, but then again, i guess we all know what assuming does.
  15. Agreed. I wasn't bothered by sleeping on the floor at all. I used a padding for a little bit of the first part of tour, and got rid of it ASAP. For those of you saying it takes two minutes to fill up an aerobed. Really? Two minutes for 150 people(if everyone got an aerobed) to fill up their bed? Lets think realistically here. But on the lighter side of the topic, WHY WOULD YOU BE VACUUMING AT 3 IN THE MORNING!??!? WE JUST GOT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE TO CLEAN!?!?!??!
  16. Successful Auditions in Madison I was at Denton auditions, and I felt those went really well. It excites me to hear what went down in "Madison" Madison for their auditions.
  17. Madison had a Denton audition at UNT, and a Houston audition at Westfield
