I love the stability that DCA has realized over the years. I can hardly wait to go to a show this Summer and see The Skyliners, Sunrisers, Westshoremen and Les Metropolitans compete for the title.

Dominick Forgive us for being skeptics, but ever since 2005 there have been all kinds of report about the Marion Cadets returning to competition and it has never come to fruition. The 05 corps was actually told a few days prior to moving in for the Summer that they were going inactive, leaving kids & staff to scramble to find a spot in another corps. Stories of fiscal irresponsibility by management were detailed in prior posts and the likelihood of the corps ever returning appeared slim. So, although you seem to posess the energy and naivete of youth, I think you may want to take a more realistic stance. Can you answer the following questions: 1. What has the attendance been like at the Winter camps, especially in the brass section ? 2. Has the corps been through the DCI evaluation process for returning corps ? 3. If so, what was the resut ? 4. What is being done this season that is different than the last 3 that will allow the corps to have enough members to compete? Should there be positive response to these I am sure there will be a ground swell of support for the corps. Unless of course, the Marion Cadets intend to use amplification & electronics. In that case, they will be villified for the ruiniation of all that was precious and true about the drum corps activity. I look forward to your honest response.

Will one of the boxes be for speakers? Amplifiers? A coffin for the cold, dead bodies of Dutch Boy alum and ex-staff who have died a million deaths due to the use of current day technology by their corps?

How can you "love it" when they play on Bb instruments and use amplification? Based on your prior posts, wouldn't that contradict everything you've stated as being important to you?

You should also say that Cap Sound's last show was on 7/28. On that date they scored a 74.45, losing to the Colt Cadets. On that same date Fever had an 84.5, Oregon Crusaders a 75.6 and Citations a 75.2. One day prior Memphis has an 84.2 & Revolution an 80.7 Dutch Boy had a very successful tour and peaked at the last moment to place third. They continue to maintain their hypocritical fan base, even with the use of amplification - good for them! Capital Sound did attend Championships in 2006 and did not make finals. They most likely will be a bubble corps that may or may not make it to Indianapolis. Just sayin.....

You are kidding, right? Have any of these "corps" competed in ANY circuit? Or do they jus have websites, corps jackets and a show picked out - but never field a corps?

Were she to provide names or particular info about what havoc the long time "director" of the corps has wrought the posts would be edited or removed and you know it. Stop acting like the National Enquirer. The new staff has more than has its work cut out for them. I am sure they are eager to prove themselves, many were former members & staff who left under less than desirable circumstances. Hopefully they have matured and learned from their mistakes. 8 horns at the last reahearsal is not pretty. There is NO REASON it should be that way. The corps is in this position for one reason only - denials can be made but the bottom line is.... What goes around comes around.

I see this as a huge step up in the pretentiousness race. Forget about learning to play, march, & spin better- THIS is the pathway to success. Based on the program announcement I anticpate being torn between going for a hot dog or to the mens room with my human psyche connecting the synapse gap.
