On a recruiting note we could use more numbers in our front ensemble as well. If you're in the area and play some mallets or want to throw down on some Aux Perc come on up in Feb. (Pant wearers need not apply) Hold on a minute! Let us not mislead anyone. You can wear pants when you apply. It's after you haved joined, that you have to shuck the pants. The official Shucking of the pants ritual ! -

No Pants? NO PROBLEM -
The staff on the field has always been a pet peeve of mine. The systems I have taught in have had the staff out on the field(out of the way) watching for problem areas. When the segment being run was done, that was the time for corrections. Okay staff __ number of mins. git er done, move on. Having someone scream in your ear, while doing a run thru ,is more distracting than benificial.

We had a 21 and over rule then it went to 18,now it is truly all age,But anyone under 18 has to have a guardian, such as a family member or a sponsor who will take responsibility for the younger member. We had a member whose 14 year old son marched a couple of years with us.Now he's marching with Madison. We have a very talented 14 year soprano player who has joined us this year. The only problem I saw was that between Playing the Opener and the Closer, the kid had 3 growth spurts, where he grew 4 inches and started talking in a baritone voice. All that twiching can get a bit distracting.
