Question about BD - Someone who is more musically inclined please tell me something... it sounds as if the Soprano's (trumpets) have some intonation problems. Am I hearing things or is this true???

Just listend to the top six APD's - WOW!!! Cavi's - Great brass sound as always, was a bit disappointed in the drums. Not as clean as previous years. Blue Devils - Good God people!!!! That book is awesome! Phatom Regiment - OMFG!!!! Sheer Power and Beauty all rolled into one! That drumline is so clean you could serve dinner on it! Cadets - Much much much much better! What can I say about the drumline that hasn't already been said? Bluecoats - Man this corps has grown up inthe past couple of years. Such a beautiful sound. SCV - Hornline has an edge to it that really comes out in the APD's... at least what you can hear of them. Too much put, just like the cinecast last night. Your thoughts?

Last night was definatly an off night for Tom Blair. Camera selection was not on par with his normal work. usually I think Tom does a great job, but this year I have to agree, we need more high camera shots. Phantom and Cavi's got ripped last night becuase there was too much empasis on the solists. I would have to give this one a D+

Video in the theater was a little grainy, and the color was off (too dark, too much green). We missed most of regiments ballad and closer becuase there were too may close up shots (would have been nice to see the last couple of sets in the closer). I am usually not critical of Tom Blairs directing, but I have to say... more high camera Tom, please!!!! Audio - My god man, someone needs to tell the corps not to park the speaker so close to the mics. Note to Santa Clara, it would have been nice to hear the horns and the battery. Overall - 6 on a scale of 1 to 10

If tradition holds true, the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps will be preforming in exhibition.

After seeing the show tonight, I can't believe Regiment is .8 beind BD in GE! That's absured. Yes, I think BD should be on top, but that spread is too much. I thought the Cavi's would be a bit cleaner tonight.. still, the show is awesome. The title is theres to lose. I dig BD's show, but it's just lacking something... I can't put my finger on what though. Cadets show is starting to grow on me. Thier visual is super clean, I can't wait to see the recaps. Here comes SCV. Some of the goofiest drum major faces I have ever seen. The interview wth the dude from SCV... classic! Favorite moment... Cap Regiment frisbee toss!
