  1. The only two questionable program notes would be Master of the Summer Music Games (seems ealry in the schedule),and the DCI Northwest regional, although I think it would be way cool.
  2. From a person "in the know", here is what the schedule for the regionals will look like next year, although there are a few other things being worked on as we speak. DCI East - Saturday and Sunday July 7th - 8th - Allentown, PA DCI Masters of the SUMMER MUSIC GAMES - Friday July 13th - Site TBA DCI Southeast - Saturday July 14 - Atlanta, GA DCI Midwest - Saturday July 21 - Indianapolis, IN Drums Along the Rockies - Saturday July 28 - Denver, CO DCI Southwest I - Saturday - Saturday July 28 - San Antonio, TX DCI Southwest II - Saturday August 4th - Tempe, AZ (Sun Devil Stadium) DCI Northwest - Saturday August 4th - Seattle, WA (Huskie Stadium) (Tentative) DCI World Championships - Monday August 6th - Saturday August 11th - Pasadena, CA So Cal and No Cal Shows will be in mid June (No Cal first week, So Cal second week, then corps head east)
  3. For those of us too lazy to cut and paste, here is the linky! Pro Mark Video Goodies.
  4. Bravo to Ricky, Ed and Christina! And of course, I would be remiss if I didn't say a special thank you to Michael Boo, whose commentary and articles give dci.org that extra touch of greatness!
  5. Will- Holy ####! I am sitting here in disbelief! Not only becuase Andy was a friend, but becuase he was a mentor to me and many other that worked with him. Being a heart attack victim myself, I can only imagine what he is going through. A very sad day for those of us from the Golden Empire. Just sent a few bucks and will do it again in time. Will, keep me posted on any news you hear. Do you have any contact information for his family?
  6. I could be wrong, but I thought I read something that said there was no San Antonio show next year. Can anyone confirm?
  7. I would almost bet one of the four would be Buffalo in 2001. The annouced crowd was something like 13 or 14k.
  8. OK, checked a couple of other sites, and some say rain, most say sunshine. I don't know what to think... UGH!
  9. Weather forecast for Friday and Saturday not good... 40 percent chance of Rain on Friday night... 70 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms on Satuday night. but, I still think its too early to make that call. Makes you wonder, does DCI have a backup plan?
  10. I will be judging field brass on Saturday night (Not becuase I actually know anything about field brass... I am staying at a Holiday Inn Express on Friday night!).
  11. HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE!!!!! ^OO^ ^OO^ ^OO^ ^OO^ ^OO^ ^OO^
  12. I heard rumors that the full crabwalk will be in by finals... and there might be a wedge leg kick coming in the near future.
  13. I don't think its a matter of BD letting 2nd slip away, but more of a matter of Regiment being that good. BD was excellent out of the gate, and Regiment struggled with major show changes. I think Regiment has finally caught BD, and the fight for second will be a good one. As for the spread between Cavis and Regiment, I think once you get this high into the 90's, one point is quite a large margin. I think you might be over exagerating just a touch. Cavis are that much better right now, although, I can see Regiment beating them in horns and drums. I don't think PR can touch Cavis in GE unless they clean like crazy this last week.
  14. Ok just got through watching the clips on Season Pass from Allentown, a few obersvations (disclaimer: these are based on clips not the full shows): - I don't know why the Cadets visual show is being scored so low. They looked cleaner than Cavis and Regiment. Good feet, nice intervals, forms are locking really nicely. Good stuff there, they should be scored much higher. - Cavis show is really growing on me! There is no way they lose GE. The championship is theirs to lose. Looked like a bad night visually for them, which doesn't bode well for everyone else. - Regiment needs to clean that visual book, and fast. Too many problems with forms not locking and intervals. Horns sound fabulous, and the drumline... OMG! Looks as if they may have had a rough show visually. I think they have more to clean than Cavis, which could be a bad thing. - Hop looked ###### about something. he was pacing, rubbing his head, antsy, agitated, and I saw all of this from the box. - I love the Cadets ballad, but I think the singer is drowning out the beautiful sound coming from the hornline. If they could lower her volumne a touch and find the perfect mix, that ballad will knock everyone out. - Speaking of ballads, Regiment has the best ballad of the year, but the only way they are going to get the GE they deserve is by cleaning the wedge during the big imapct. That form is all over the place. Make it look pretty, and the crowd will eat it up. Anyone else?
  15. well, I found them, four clips is all that came up. Can someone confirm this was it?
  16. Ok, I have been trying for an hour to find the clips that everyone was talking about on Season Pass, but nothing comes up on my computer. Did they take them down after the show? Someone please help!!!
  17. Buffalo 2001 (only about 12-13k) Oralndo 1997 -1998 (?) Jacksonville
  18. With the stadium falling apart (literally), and drum corps crowds becoming larger, should the show be retired or moved out of Allentown?
  19. Compilation of Scores from July 31st shows: 1 The Cavaliers 94.050 2 Blue Devils 93.550 3 Phantom Regiment 93.400 4 Bluecoats 91.450 5 The Cadets 90.900 6 Santa Clara Vanguard 88.600 7 Boston Crusaders 87.550 7 Carolina Crown 87.550 9 Blue Knights 86.500 10 Madison Scouts 86.000 11 Glassmen 84.800 12 Spirit from JSU 83.550 notes: The Cavaliers - The green Machine is starting to gain some momentum as we head towards Madison. The Machine is in high gear and is looking very tough to beat. Can anyone catch them? Blue Devils - The .025 gap of Saturday suddenly got much larger on Monday, but its too early to panic. The Blue Devils are still in the thick of things, and will be adding more material to their show this week with the hopes of boosting their GE scores. Will it be enough to contend, or should they be more concerned about that the big white "devil" filling up their rear view mirror? Phantom Regiment - Continuing to gain ground on the leaders, now less than point behind the Cavis and within striking distance of BD. The real test will be head to head meetings with the top two. Regiment has two remaining shows with The Cavaliers, but will not see BD until Quarterfinals in Madison. This corps need a few more ounces of GE to have a shot at The Cavaliers. Bluecoats - Looking for something to push them back up with BD and Cavis and PR. Do they have enough to keep pace? Next 5 days will be crucial. None the less, the "war" has been won, and the Bluecoats have established themselves as a legitmate upper tier drum corps. Cadets - Hop's kids can't buy a break. After a score of changes, a much more appealing opening to their production, cutting several lines of dialog, and upswing in scores last week, Cadets are struggling to keep pace with the top tier. The biggest surprise of the night has to be the low scores in brass and drums, almost a full point behind Cavis and BD. Vanguard, Crusaders, Scouts, Crown and Blue Knights - To borrow a line from Steve Rondinaro, its the "Shootout at the OK Coral"! This could be one of the tightest, and most exciting races in recent DCI history. In as little as a week, the sixth place corps could end up 10th, and vice versa. It's anyones ballgame. Hang on to your hats, its about to get fun!
  20. Gotta give a round of props to the folks at DCI, specificaly Ed Dempsy and "Ricky the Web Guy" for a job well done on the season pass stuff. They have far surpassed expectations this year, and really offered the fans a special treat. Thanks guys!!
