I missed the band jamboree this last week end. Who won the "Most Members in Puberty" award this year? I heard that one band was reprimanded for rebooting their PC on field,,, can you imagine that?

The fact is, Drum and Bugle Corps is dead. Enjoy the crappy video's on You-Tube from back in the day! Drum corps is gone, It's now Marching Band. Done. You all want to keep polishing the memory of what is now a turd. No matter how much you try to polish it,,, it's just a turd no matter how much you want to polish it to see it shine again. Deal with it, you all stood by and watched it happen and did nothing. Enjoy!

I thought that Kidsgrove was a strong straight forward entertaining show, MBI in my opinion was the high point of the evening. Reading was,,, Reading. Although I did like last years show compaired to this years.

I really have a hard time digesting this whole change that’s happening before our eyes, (and before you start with the "Dinosaur" thing go back to romper room and play,,, Men and Women are trying to talk intelligently here) I find it so hard to believe that the so called "experts" cant hear what’s going on,,, They’ve processed the emotion out of the shows! What’s next ?,,, for any quick drill move on the field the pit will insert a "ZAP" or "POP" sound effect like the muscle woman dance competitions on ESPN 2-Venezuela at 4:00 AM? I pitty the Director that makes the first move to plug DCA in. I'm done now,,,,

DCI will never see another Penney from me, and many others that don’t like what the product is. If DCA is dumb enough to follow DCI,, then they would loose me and many many others. DCA couldn’t tolerate that kind of financial hit." I just believe that it's wrong to make such a Fundamental change to drum corps. I'm very passionate about it also,,

No! I'm not kidding at all! I also watched Drum Corps evolve, I’m not stuck in the 60’s, the 90’s or 2k’s . The fact of the matter is that don’t mess with a great thing that we have been given by our elders. We are NOT talking about key of an instrument,,, or how many drums you carry or don’t carry,, we are talking about a FUNDAMENTAL change! You have some very good points, and I believe that your heart is in the right place. BUT,,, don’t mess with a good thing! Its that simple,,, you will at some point in your life realize that maybe,,, just maybe,,,, that your elders had it right!!!!! And all we had to do was simply build on what they laid out for us. I never had any problem with B flat horns, I do how ever have a problem with the B flats (or G's for that matter) that sound like Pea Shooters! I prefer the G horn sound myself,, a bit raw,,, bright yet round,,, and most of all, loud! My whole point here is don't mess with a good thing! Is change always good? Im changing my lunch into energy,,,, good for me, but not for anyone else that gets what's left after that.

Go to BOA, Leave Drum and Bugle Corps alone! Would anyone ever think of putting an amp with a Pipe and Drum Band? NO!!! They have been around since the fifteenth century. Hardly a change,,, why? BECAUSE THEY KNOW BETTER!!!! So all the morons that think they should change Drum and Bugle Corps should just go to BOA and leave the HUGE majority of us in DCA to do what we know how to do. Make amazing shows with Percussion and Brass. If a mallet instrument can’t cut it on the field then they should be looking for a BETTER instrument to fit the need. So go ahead and suspend me now from DCP like you always do,,,,

Andy, That is so funny that you say this,,, I too looked at a few corps at DCA squat, I just laughed my ### off! It looks like they all have to,,, well,,,, dump! Maybe its art???? Who knows,,, it does look silly!

This is truly a sad day for all of Drum and Bugle Corps,,, I had the honor to march under the direction of the one and only, George Parks. It was the most memorable part of being a Buccaneer. The first show that I marched with the Bucs was like a dream,, looking over to see George leading me onto the field, it was the best moment of my Drum Corps career. Rest in peace George,

You got it right brother!!!!!! We all have a choice of what to do with our spare time, we do Drum and Bugle Corps because it is different! It is unique,,, the all brass sound and kick #$$ percussion is awesome. The guards do more than you could ever hope from any town dance studio. The whole package is sooo unique that we have to do it! Or you do Marching Band,,,,,, that's OK if that's what you like! its a no brainer to me! Drum and Bugle Corps!!!!!! I'll like my amp just like it is,, at home,, cranked up and jamm'in!

You're correct. I'm VERY passionate about what's good for Drum Corps and what is bad for Drum Corps. And I can assure you that many feel the same about keeping Amps out of DCA as I do, and are just as passionate. As I stated in my other post, DCA must be very careful how they move forward.
