  1. Vanguard's drill is very good this year, i do seem to have a feeling that sometimes the brassline's drill outweighs the rest of the corps as far as the central focus point for the show is concerned. in some parts the drill almost doesn't allow the music ensemble room to breathe and some of the guard staging comes across as a secondary thought to the brassline and drumlines staging. This is very critical of me, but there is something which doesn't quite sit right when listening to the show music and then viewing the show as a complete package. at certain points in the show it is almost as though the music is complementing the drill when it should be the other way around. Still love the show, especially the extended roll which the tenorline play half way through the show on the 50 :)
  2. Thankyou for the heads up BACMom. My 3 month season pass ends today and i thought i was going to miss out on a second viewing of the Atlanta show by one day. ^OO^
  3. Brassop, that was a lovely bit of satire. ^OO^
  4. Great pictures ~G~. Will you be writing a review for Allentown?
  5. Very true, but i still prefer the Blue shades solo though.
  6. The Cadets have by far the best soloist with the sop guy in Blue Shades. There is so much character in that solo
  7. So far BD wins drums tonight. Snareline are playing some nice stuff. :)
  8. I loved Phantom's performance of their show.....the trouble is, i find myself thinking that sometimes Phantom look as though they are trying to hard with their visual design. I don't know? I'm unsure about Pochahontas and friends uniform as well. Overall a great performance though. :)
  9. Too much contra at the start of firebird for me.
  10. I actually liked Bk's show. They need to showcase the drumline a bit more and bring them forward a little more often. I thought the end drill was very reminiscent of the closing drill from BK's 2000 show.
  11. Why do i keep waiting to see Jack Sparrow turn up in the Guardline?
  12. Ah, i didn't see the " Boo to DCI " thread. Can a Mod close this please. thanks
  13. On the season pass there doesn't appear to be an Encorps video for Kalamazoo. At the moment there is only an Encorps video for Annapolis. Will DCI be putting up a video of kalamazoo soon on the season pass? Thanks.
  14. Other recommendations at double speed: Muchachos 74 VK 88 Cadets 89, drum feature in the opener Phantom 91, Bacchanale Crossmen 92, drum feature Cadets 93, opener BK 93, drum feature Madison 94, drum feature Phantom 95, pit feature to the end Crown 00 Have fun
  15. You can just use Windows media player and use the speed tool. I wasn't thinking before the edit. sorry
  16. Anybody with the Cadets 07 apd, try speeding up the recording 3 times. very different i like to call it " Cadets on Candy ". Also speeding up Carolina Crown's 2004 singing twice is pretty cool! and SCV's New era chant, very funny.
  17. Ah, so my hunch was wrong then. thanks anyway for clarifying it for me Chris.
  18. I only have apds and lot videos to go by, but Phantom sound the cleanest so far to me. Which begs the question.......Were Crown underscored between 99-02? Yes Phantom are cleaner than Crown were, but they didn't sound that different from what Phantom are playing this year. I know Paul Rennick was at Crown during those years, but it does make me wonder. As far as the most enjoyable snareline to watch/listen to this year, well at the mo it's BD. I don't like the WGI visual moves and i wish they were playing on Yamahas, but they have some tasty parts and they are the type of line that i like to TRY and play along with when listening to them. Oh and a small mention for Impulse's snareline.
  19. Cavies Vanguard Vanguard and i think Bluecoats will win drums.
