  1. crown - needs new look boston - get rid of the new sequins. cadets - assuming they go back to the all white pants/ no back thing... bd - i dug the pin stripes from 04... not the adidas-track suit looking stripes.
  2. its only been about 3 days. They are smart people, they need time to figure things out. Not knowing anything but a director's name and credentials leaves them asking lots of questions... staff, show concept, etc...Iit's still september and again 3 days since word got out. Trust me, when the members are SURE they know what they want to do and can afford to do, they will ask for help. I know i will be contacting the alumni to help out a vet. Will you?
  3. here is a thought... if you see a "local"(east coast) crossmen kid on the sponsor board, or know one asking for help, help them out. They are the ones trying against the odds to make it work, keeping traditions alive, and showing some leadership. The corps needs that right now. SO instead of saying what could or should happen, be proactive, and help out a member, they will probably thank you for a long time to come. my 2 cents.
  4. i am sure the alumni have mixed opinions. But i will say this, if most of their alumni are in the tri state area (pa/nj/de) i am sure that they will not be able to be around the corps as much, volenteering their time. Big difference from driving 45 minutes to a camp and flying. time will tell. good luck to them.
  5. zone? pretty much any night rehersal under the lights. always preformed a little better at night.
  6. spirit's bari solo crossmen's ballad phantom's show last minute of scv BD at the dagger in the heart ish part academy - double tounging stuff end of cadets ballad.
  7. true. BUT The "person who runs out on the field with the coach" is an Certified Athletic Trainer(atc) Which requires a degree and board examinations. There is a huge difference between an Athletic Trainer and a 'trainer'. trainer for what? boxing, personal trainer? they only require a 3-6 month class and a test.
  8. "less suck, more good" "feel free to better yourself 10 times for ticking" (push-ups) "even hellen keller could see your not 2 1/2 off that yard line" "SERIOUSLY? seriously! just reset" "OK, lets rep letter M to the end of the show.... that sounded great! Now I want you all to go find me a special leaf off of that tree... not that close one either... and then were going to play it again."
  9. Montgomery county (eastern PA) is the highest paying as far as school districts in Pennsylvania... and has some great music programs.
  10. even in the 15 second clips of the web cam, cavies drill is.. perfect. props to the visual team.
  11. so what your saying is that anyone who used the voice that was maybe 'not needed' is a "HS band" ok well then change your quote to all the people they would be called a "band" according to you... crossmen, Cap reg, Blue stars, cadets, etc..., i guess the combined members of these CORPS spent A LOT of money being in their perspective "BANDS", and dare i say, enjoy what they are doing. low blow buddy.
  12. the line at the end of the ballad lets the audience know that the accident (which is why we are listening to the radio) has cleared and that the lanes are open, que'ing to have a save trip home. The closer being called "shortcut home" the naration just says the show- "time for crusin" "accident, listen to radio" "ballad, wanting to go home" "shortcut home" pretty simple and only lasts a few seconds. Done well i think.
  13. in addition to the top starter's review, i think that the Colts closer "Ride" is about 20 clicks too slow. I was sitting at allentown next to a friend of mine who was also preforming in the concert at my college that was the WORLD premier of the piece with Mr. Hazo conduting it. we agreed. plus, bluecoats did it 2? years ago and it was faster as well. I mean it just kills the integrity of the piece slowing it down that much. its a great piece, but it definetly takes an expierenced ensemble to play it at the writen tempo. I believe it was writen at a level 5? or for wind ensemble. i give them credit for selecting the piece, but believe the show would have more impact if it was the fast "ride" it is meant to be. btw the story line behind the piece is great. thoughts?
  14. (DCI) MUSIC IN MOTION, East Rutherford, NJ August 3, 2006 Place Corps Score DIVISION I 1 The Cavaliers 95.600 2 The Cadets 92.300 3 Carolina Crown 89.150 4 Madison Scouts 86.550 5 Crossmen 82.500 6 The Magic 76.600 7 Esperanza 73.650
  15. the crossmen are at Fauquier HS in warrenton VA monday and tuesday.
  16. wow. can't believe that battery solo in the opener was that dirty, standing STILL...
  17. BK has too much prancing and not enough marching... how would you clean a technique like that? any time they go fast, it looks like they are running and i can't find any pairs feet that look the same. also it lacks a level of difficulty drill wise. They definetly sound better than years past.
  18. works now... THANKS! i was looking for CR and crossmen's commentary as well
  19. simple... the cadets and crossmen are 2 seperate drum corps, with 2 seperate staffs. i think the guard did extremly well today.
  20. i followed the instructions from the post you made earlier, i have older versions of the podcast, nothing from today
  21. for box center... i can not find the commentary. where is it?
  22. i agree completly. Their hornline is great, but i would love to see them play that show constantly moving. Props to the bari soloist... all of your past instructors back home would be proud! i can see the gap between crossmen and spirit closing a bit after today.
  23. as described on the season pass interview... they are supposed to mimmic racing jackets - with the patches of the corps and its sponsors on the side also their drill numbers. i think it off sets the darkness of the corps uni well.
