Who's the biggest contender for top 12...
BlueShades152 replied to BozzlyB's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I've been a big fan of Crossmen for a while, and was rooting hard for them to make it back to finals last year. I'm hoping that they are able to do it this year! -
Phantom to go to FJM
BlueShades152 replied to Dan Balash's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority on this, but I actually liked the khaki uniform...however, I would not really want them to go back to that look. White or black, I'm hoping for at least a little red in the uniforms. -
2008 DCI DVD Reissue . . .
BlueShades152 replied to bawker's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I just got my dvd's today (they were ordered several weeks ago for Christmas). I watched Phantom as soon as I opened the dvd's. Thankfully, I had the unedited version. Not even halfway through the show, I had a few tears in my eyes. No other show has ever done that to me, it is hands down my new favorite show in drum corps history. -
That clip makes me even more excited to see them this summer!

Penalty for Falling ? Famous Falls ?

Carolina Crown 2007...I can't remember where it was now, but towards the end of the show, there was a several-person pile up on the 50. Loud gasps from the audience. They recovered very quickly and I don't think anyone was hurt. -
2008 Season Uniform Changes

I personally loved the Blue Devil's with white plumes. But I expect them to go back to black next year. -

This is the first time I ever really remember being excited to see Spirit's show. I look forward to seeing what they do with this. -
I thought the stadium was great all around. I look forward to going back to watch drum corps next summer.

Spirit Announces 2009 Program
BlueShades152 replied to Whoa_Mellophone_2012's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
This is not what I expected...however, I am very excited. Kansas is my father's favorite band, and I had to listen to them a whole lot growing up. After a while, I began to like them after I became familiar with their music. This could be pretty cool, and even though my dad doesn't know much about drum corps, he'll probably like hearing that a corps is doing their music. -

Cadets 2006 vs. Cadets 2008
BlueShades152 replied to FTNK's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I actually prefer 2008 over 2006. I thought the 2006 production was musically a little weaker than 2008. There were some very good moments in the 2006 show (loved the beginning...really enjoyed the ballad) but there was nothing that really stood out as being absolutely amazing. I heard a lot about the Cadets 2008 show on here before I saw it, and I expected to hate it. Instead, I loved it...it wasn't their best show by any means, but there were some fantastic moments, and the ending was just amazing. -
I'm in the same situation as you. I always get the dvd's for Christmas, and it's going to be very hard to wait this year, because this year was so great all the way around.

Which Corps Are Using Synthesizers
BlueShades152 replied to DrumCorpsFan27's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I pretty much agree with you...except I never marched unfortunately...but I can't imagine completely giving up on something I love and support so much because it is evolving and changing. Sure, there were many many incredible shows through the 80s and 90s and so far this decade, but just because electronics are being added does not mean that there will be no more of these incredible shows that will stand the test of time. I'm just glad that I won't be missing out next year like some people have stated they will. -
What about "the other" new rule for '09

Water balloon fight anyone? -
I used to run to Phantom 06-07, Madison Scouts 03, Crown 06 and Cadets 00 and 01. I would think Phantom 08 would be a good show to run to as well...apparently I only run to more recent shows lol.

Which Corps Are Using Synthesizers
BlueShades152 replied to DrumCorpsFan27's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I don't recall saying that I will be marching...but maybe I did say it somewhere, and just didn't mean to say it that way lol. Not that it really matters, I was just curious how you seemed to know how old I was, which is not under 21. -

BlueShades152 replied to DrumCorpsFan27's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
How do you know how old I am? Anyway...I do understand how it upsets some people. I'm not exactly jumping for joy over it, but I do believe that for the most part, those who choose to use this will do so in a manner that will enhance the show and will not go overboard. I guess we'll all find out in June. Hey, I may even hate it once I see it, but I like to stay optimistc. -

BlueShades152 replied to DrumCorpsFan27's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
You know, all this complaining and putting high school bands down (is there really a reason for that?) and you know what...we're still going to have synthesizers next year. I would much rather get used to the idea and find a way to accept it and find some positive aspects of it, instead of spending the next 7 months talking about how it's going to fail and how I'm not going to any more shows, etc. before we even see anything on the field. I've pretty much said all that I had to say on the subject by now. But I'm looking forward to seeing what some of the corps are going to put on the field for 2009.
