  1. Is clean AND tasty a choice? I choose that one. See: Bluecoats 2009.
  2. Go look up Spirit's 2004 cymbal I&E. It's incredible . Also any other cymbal line taught by Eddie Capps. People like him are pushing the boundaries of cymbal playing. There's no telling what you'll see next. This past year in WGI, Odyssey's cymbal line (also taught by Eddie Capps) had a solo with half of them on the other half's shoulders, playing on each other's cymbals.. Kind of hard to explain. Type in "Odyssey percussion 2009" and look for it at the end of the show. Rawk.
  3. If you watch Crown's Remo sponsorship video on the Fan Network, it looks like their drums are green this year. However, that could very likely just be the video editing. Dunno.
  4. Being a percussion guy myself, I can say from experience that the Dr. Beat is entirely necessary. I haven't marched corps yet, but I've marched WGI, and we use it the whole season. Even the best drummers can't maintain the correct tempo 100% of the time, so the Dr. is there to help with that. It certainly helps build consistency with tempo. I'd say it wouldn't be a good idea to stop using it at any point. Maybe less later in the season, but never all together. I'd file it under the "necessary evil" category, although I don't really find it evil, heh.
  5. The uniforms won't be green. I'm sure they'll still be cream, with different accents, like they did the last 2 years.
  6. Curious... it was definitely there before. I watched it.
  7. Well, considering the recent success and total bad###ness of Rhythm X , nothing bad is gonna come out of that, heh. Best of luck to the Bluecoats this summer, they've had some of my favorite shows recently, and I know this one won't disappoint!
  8. I'm in for the Scouts. Or, perhaps Boston. But probably the Scouts. Or maybe both. Heh, I guess it's not set in stone yet.
  9. Well, it's already been said, but there has been a recent comeback for cymbal lines, which warmes my bones. There's too much bad-assery to be had with a cymbal line to pass up. Also, timpani will never be able to do what a bass line can do . They're quite different.
  10. PR 08 Madison 08 BCoats 08 Crown 07 Cavaliers 06 Cavaliers 08 Wow... 2008 was awesome... If I remember correctly, the last countdown only let us choose from the last like 3 years or something... unless I'm thinking of something else.
  11. I was wondering what model sticks the Scouts and Crown used this past season. It looked like the Scouts were using Thom Hannums, but later I saw what looked like Scott Johnsons or something, I couldn't really tell since they were taped. And I really know nothing about what Crown uses aside from that it's from Innovative. Surely someone here will know and can clarify for me. Thanks!
  12. I'm auditioning most likely for the Cavaliers because that's my ultimate goal, and also either the Scouts or Crown.
  13. This story makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And why would you doubt it? There's no reason to make something like that up.
  14. I know The Cavaliers and Crown have bumper stickers... I'd bet more corps do. Also I know Madison has a sticker (not necessarily a bumper sticker) that you can choose to put on your bumper if you wish.
