  1. I've used both MTX and Vipers for 3+ years EACH. Vipers. Period.
  2. Kasey nailed it on the head, and usually does. Great guy. Glad he gets to march this summer, and glad he got this done before he left. :)
  3. Hah, I remember in 07 when we found your post the first time (laptops + GW internet), and figured out who you were. We expected you for late brass block or early ensemble every night (just as the sun went down, of course). Good times, thanks for the support. :) Jordan
  4. Nah T-Mac, you're usually right, and we love you for it. Hahaha. I just remember being on the field a couple times over the past couple seasons, seeing you (and occasionally I think your wife, as well) come up with lawn chairs and sit down, and thinking "Uh oh, T-Mac is here, play pretty guys." Heh.
  5. True story. We horn guys saw it at show and tells during the camp season, though. Sick-nasty intensity. As for CC5, they do sound as good playing and moving at the end of a block as they do standing still. Very exciting to see.
  6. She's ridiculous good, and she has got a LOT of time left. If you watch some of the CrownCast vids, you can see that she's on center in a few of them. Her time will definitely come. Oh, AND she's a Black Belt. LOL.
  7. Coming from someone that wanted to be on the field again this year: Sick.
  8. Michael Klesch changes lives. Richard Hinshaw is great, too. Can't wait to see these guys this summer.
  9. Neil is awesome :) This is great for him and great for the organization. I expect great things.
  10. I'd give Dan an A just for how visible he is at most DCI functions. He is good at avoiding the age-old CEO-type "leadership from the Ivory Tower" trap.
  11. Regardless of this, my statement still holds true, I think.
  12. 2009: Drum Corps across the country push the envelope, again, to some fans' dismay and to some fans' delight. Placements are irrelevant.
  13. There's going to be a "Sound Test" in the Stadium on something like September 27th. A couple bands I'm teaching will be there, so if this is still a concern, I'll let you know how it went. :)
  14. Simply my opinion: Well-written program, performed at a high level, and easily accessible to the audience. I think that the last detail may lend to the evidence against it for being "shticky." However, I still think a lot of stuff can be artistic AND accessible and not be labeled as such. 2005 BD: I thought it was a great idea having it backwards. Most judges tapes will mention "push to the end of the phrase" or "obvious fatigue in the members is starting to show".. but BD, rather than hiding this by making the end of the show the labored and tired parts, wrote the program for the show to be performed the strongest at the end. That's gutsy, to me. Cadets, any year 2005-2008: I think we need to sit back and realize that they possibly are changing the activity in a positive way. Look at Star of Indiana. Apparently, in their prime, they were still being booed off the field for doing minimalistic shows (among other reasons of which the members had no control, including money). This era's Cadets may just be the same case. In 10 years we'll all look back and say "That was awesome. Period." Lastly, sorry it seems as if I'm trying to defend everything you guys are trying to criticize, but I think there's a lot of negativity in this thread and I was just trying to share some positives, even if for the members' sake. I know that seeing your corps criticized so blatantly, and sometimes torn down so hatefully can be really, really disheartening, especially after having arrived home no earlier than 3 days ago from busting your butt for an entire summer. Just my two cents.
  15. I was pretty hesitant about this when it was first put in as well, but it has since grown on me.. a LOT. I thought it was tasteful, at least.
  16. My regret: Developing a stress fracture in my foot 3 weeks into Spring Training this summer and only marching one show. I don't regret: Marching Rockford on a broken foot.
  17. Any chance I could get an invite? I'll be online all night. "CrownSopJordan" is my SN. :)
  18. I had a blast, it was really a great time. I have a few pics to send to "DC-Eye" now. :)
  19. Ah, thanks for clearing that up, York. And thank you everyone for the kind words towards the Carolina Crown Program.
  20. I'm pretty sure they put the mics in front of the contras for this recording, judging by the title. Could be wrong, I couldn't make it to that camp. I do like the way it sounds, though.
