  1. The one thing I don't like about this solo is... it was too difficult to hear from my TERRIBLE seat at finals... next year, no cheap seats... so I can better hear the awesomeness. Also, Bob, please run for President of The United States in 2012.
  2. Thanks for keeping things in perspective, Bob. Please... put your spreadsheets away! ...or just show them to someone else, I've already seen them (or at least heard them from you) Also, wouldn't that 4th valve possibly put the low B and E more in tune... (2+4 rather than 1+2+3) (not that those notes are used)
  3. I plan to take all my mouthpieces with me to midwest... I'll give the horns a whirl.
  4. I have the same opinion... Yamaha > the rest They're workin on the 4th valve thing Jason... On the PR to Jupiter issue... Has anyone else noticed that The Jupiter horns and King horns look (and possibly sound) a lot alike? (I noticed this mainly in the baritones/euhoniums as that is what I specialize in) ...I just wonder if the Jupiter horns have all the intonation difficulties built into them like the Kings... hmm... However, I agree that the approach to the instrument will prevail above all.
  5. Mine was $80 or $85... but I still haven't received it... someone was hired to do work of that nature... halfway through tour she quit... she had never ordered my jacket (which I had ordered before the season) oh well...
  6. Just research Chris Martin... that's all...
  7. If your primary goal is making it into a corps of a certain level... then baritone/euphonium... seems like less auditionees per available spots, and these people are the most likely to flake leaving spots to fill late in the preseason.
  8. Well... they don't have him any more... but fortunately the Ball State Wind Ensemble and Fortress of Brass tuba/euphonium quartet still do.
  9. Agreed... Love the Coats Bari/Euph line... but to say I'm not worthy...? That would be a lie.
  10. Don't worry about that... I'm pretty sure a new horn is in the works. (I witnessed a design meeting just a few days ago.)
  11. I started in 5th grade as a trumpet player, switched to euphonium my freshman year of high school, and to tuba my sophomore year. (all the while still playing trumpet in jazz bands/pep bands) I also learned trombone and horn and have played all of these instruments in college bands. This summer I will be marching euphonium with a World Class corps.
  12. My prediction: 2008 will be an EXCELLENT year for the Pioneer hornline.
  13. I just can't wait to hear that awesome Bluecoats hornline.
