Even though I am not a huge fan of Carolina Crown, Clair de Lune was beautifully done, and basically my favorite portion of their 08 show (minus the first impact moment, which was undoubtedly a really cool moment in drum corps). There is one thing I do wish though... I wish that I could hear more of all 16 of those contras. I just don't feel like they had the presence that they should have had with around 20% of their horn line playing tuba. Just my humble opinion.

Yeah the 05 Cadets version is just phenomenally put together in terms of a design and a performance standpoint. The 02 Bluecoats just don't have the same "aura" or power that the Cadets had.

IMO drum corps still uses fast marching and cool music. Great choices for the shows you would go back to see though. FANTASTIC performances that I wish I could have seen in person.

speaking of that part of the show, or rather when the "contender" gets knocked down before he comes back to win it, I think my favorite thing i heard from the crowd was the cry of "GET UP!!!" from this one woman. i chuckle every time. but anyways, yeah i wonder if changing the line to "knockout" would have changed the reaction of the crowd at all... oh well. no way to know i guess.

And why are a lot of people saying that corps need to prove that a previous years' successes weren't flukes? ...just saying

San Antonio is my favorite, mainly because its one of my home shows. I've performed there twelve times now, I think... But besides that one, I'd say Allentown is great, for the warmup, and Denver is awesome because that stadium is just epic.

I think I would have found this extremely funny. We had 2 shows with that Cavies and BD in TX this past year, but I missed any events like this.

I'm one to scream my head off at friends on the field before and after the show. During the show I just applaud and go crazy just like any "normal" fan I do hate it when a beautiful moment is ruined by rude crowd members. Such a shame... But WOW I can't wait for the season to start!

Well at least for the Bluecoats, auditions don't run through april... from November to January is when the majority of the membership gets contracted and such. After that, we have monthly rehearsals to learn drill, music etc. until April. As pointed out a few times before, this time is NEEDED for the design teams to advance the show music, drill, and themes. The members need to have time together before they move in during May. If they don't, then they are at square one when other corps could be two or three steps ahead of them.

Voted Cadets, because they like to do "out there" themes and shows. I think an all Cher show falls into that category...

If Phantom's hornline is anything like it was last year, in terms of talent (which I'm sure won't be a problem) then they would sound just fine on any brand of instruments.
