  1. Speaking to many folks around rehearsals that's exactly what I've heard. BAC also has a zero tolerance policy which I've realized is not just a policy for policy's sake, but something they've taken very serious action on as well over the years.
  2. My bad. I wasn't paying too much attention during the long off period either as the OP mentioned. I'll assume that folks also talked about an open letter dated 4/7/22 about the poor girl who marched Santa Clara Vanguard in the early 2000's who had many harmful and damaging experiences while marching with them. https://www.maasin.net/blog/open-letter-to-the-drum-corps-community-megan-de-roiz-yankee
  3. Since this thread is titled "Abuse in Drum Corps", this story IMO is also appropriate to be posted here. This article is dated October 7, 2021 and the student came forward May 18, 2021.. Longtime Madison musician accused of sexual misconduct with drum-corps students
  4. @jwillis35I really liked your post and wanted to share it here in the BAC thread...I will not say the same for the OP of the other thread... "Just watched a fairly good video of Boston at the July 3 show. The visual and GE aspects are starting to pull at me more. Great use of the props and the guard is going to be stunning. As I've said before the performance caption strength in brass, percussion, guard, and marching will be top shelf. I really need to get a better read on SCV but that has been difficult since their show is not complete. They definitely have great caption strength too, but I would have Boston over them as of now. My only caveat with Boston is that I'd like to see a few more full visual ensemble moves with one or two more full music ensemble moments. At times the show feels segmented. But again, that is just an opinion from a non judge. I do believe Boston is going to be heard from. Would not shock me at all if this show finished top 3. "
  5. I never said your commentary was directed at Boston. You clearly said, "it’s a rebuilding year for EVERYONE" and I said that "I disagree." Whether corps decided to field or not to field and their reasons I cannot speak to that. I can say that last season (2021) was not a throw away season for Boston in the slightest on all levels of the organization. What other corps decided to do or not to do was their own prerogative. Boston has not had any membership issues or filling their roster problems beyond what is normally expected for a regular season. I have noticed though in more ways than not that this has been an issue with other corps, but in all fairness to the other corps involved I will not speak to that.
  6. OK that is fine, but again I disagree. It is not been a rebuilding year for Boston both on and off the field. I happen to know what goes on behind the scenes as well. So just saying.
  7. I disagree. Boston is not in a rebuilding year. I know what re-building years are all about and this is not that.
  8. Presenting....GOD'S HORNLINE They are just so full of themselves.....LOL
  9. All top hornlines sound great when their not moving.
  10. I've seen the references out there referring to 2017 tuning sequence. So absurd, but perhaps they should add it to their wiki bio?....It suits them just right...LOL
  11. This was a seasoned and very experienced panel....That's all I'll say about it...
  12. No. New England is a region comprising six states in the Northeastern United States: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. That said, according to the Census Bureau the Northeast Region includes Six States in New England (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) AND Three in Middle Atlantic (New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania).
  13. Cavies upper brass is weaker then 2019 and this is not 2019 Boston...guard is your weakest link IMO...but anything can and will happen...Best of luck.
  14. That's the cut-off. It it doesn't happen by 8:30 then that will probably be it...
  15. Lynn, Lynn, the city of sin, you'll never come out the way you went in, what looks like gold is really tin, the girls say 'no' but they'll give in, Lynn, Lynn, the city of sin.
  16. Might be a rainout. Show can delay up to 90 minutes from what I've heard or it's a cancel.
  17. Didn't a bunch of corps (from WC and EC) meet in Texas early season one year? I seem to think that was the case, but I didn't check it anywhere...
  18. I didn't get a chance to say how thrilled I am to see Phantom back in the conversation. I love both their opener and closer and especially their music book this year. I've missed the Phantom sound and power that I've grown to love since first hearing them in 1987.
  19. I will be watching the corps that I haven't seen yet mostly...plus Boston again 🙂
  20. That's great. No better place to debut their show then for the Boston crowd!!! I always loved performing for the crowds in the Boston area!
