I don't necessarily agree that the BD hate is a direct result of them being on the top of the heap by many people. I will concede that maybe perhaps it IS the reason for SOME and their animosity and hate, but I'm not necessarily buying or convinced that is the total end all reason in this argument. My personal feeling toward BD this year really doesn't matter. BUT for those that want to know..I secretly hated them all year until I saw them in Allentown live. Now don't get me wrong..I wasn't ready to throw babies at the show, but it wasn't really as bad as I've read on here or even MY viewing on fan network. I will add (extremely small sample) that the majority of people around me were not very fond of BD this year...I actually asked them...BUT that doesn't mean that there are more people out there who love them either.

I'm going with Madison this year. The only corps that brought me to my feet this year several times during their show. Even though I love my beloved Crusaders...unfortunately from a sheer excitement standpoint Madison WINS hands-down IMO.

Well it is not ALL customers being turned off. I sat next to a lady at Allentown that has made EVERY DCI finals except 1974. She said to me she only missed 1974 because it had to do with not knowing exactly where it was going to be held or something like that. Though this is true, I think MORE EXPLORATION should be made from a marketing perspective to try and "figure out" where the largest core audience numbers would be and deliver to them a product that they want. The more dollars that can be generated the more to go around for all the corps. It really is NOT all that complicated.

Two things for me...(hoping for with a heck of a lot of wishful thinking) Crossing fingers...BAC beat their all-time high score of 92.4 and pull a unprecedented last week surge with a upset and come in 6th.

I'm not sure if I want to respond to this one. I've been around drum corps for about 25 years personally both part of and as just a fan. Though I'm not necessarily happy with every change that has transpired over the years, I honestly don't think that the state of drum corps is as bad as you describe it here. Why can you just look for something to like instead of all this negative hate?

I for one choose Allentown from traveling to Indy this year. When there were alternative finals venues each year I used to plan my vacation around them. Not anymore! I'm not in a big hurry to go back to Indy. Unfortunately my Friday was a disaster this year at Allentown and I got to see 3 shows. That told me that I'm glad I didn't go to the 3 C event in the beginning of the year. To travel 6 1/2 hours due to traffic (should have been 2 1/2) one-way for 3 corps puts my love of LIVE drum corps to the limits. Especially when I have the fan network to enjoy them. I did something similar the year before that and traveled as far to West Virginia and a Charleston show( very long drive). My highlight was getting to see Phantom practice at the stadium. I was in Indy in 2008 and that was gr8..well technically Bloomington...I know this has been discussed a whole bunch...BUT I am not going to watch LIVE drum corps in an OIL CAN either.

Czapinski has been known to do that with a lot of corps over the years!...lol

This is one of those cool trivia things that I did not know. It is so much better than the ones I remember. "BAC the only founding member of DCI to not make finals". I guess that is why 1999 was such a special year to me (finals 1st time) and 1994 a heart breaker(13th place). And also honorable mention to 1990(10th in prelims) and 15th in semi's.

I agree....I really don't want to say what my father said to me at Allentown about BAC...but all I can say is if he was not my dad I would have punched his lights out

I would just like to mention that some guy looked at me Saturday after scores were announced in bewilderment and said to me " You know it's political"....I'm going to reserve my own opinion for now...

I think it is interesting to note that the BS staff is the old Boston staff...well mostly anyways...

Well they had they most improvement score-wise since Atlanta as of Allentown...according to boo "The corps closed the 2.75 spread between them and Blue Stars in Atlanta to 1.35 by tying Cascades for the biggest score increase from Atlanta, 2.85.".....so we shall see

Just my opinion of course...I Love PR's opener and closer...but not very much else in the middle...

I personally would like to see a rules proposal by someone other than GH or DG for a change... Dear DCI Corps Directors: The time to act is now before it is too late. The scouts were just phenomenal at Allentown....I think I may have annoyed a few people behind me when I leaped to me feet in the middle of the show a couple times...LOL During the announcement of scores Madison was THE ONLY corps Saturday that got extra accolades from the crowd.
