Trust me, I tried like the dickens to even get him to consider Vagabonds. Unfortunately, because his dad was asst. director of Sharpsburg, he had a loyalty to them, even though they existed no longer. Personally, I think just maybe he didn't realize how good he was. He would certainly have thrived in any corps but especially Vagabonds who relied on sop soloists. I talk to him probably ever other week. Rocketman - Oscar

JoJo: About the only thing it would do is put to rest where the Muchachos placed in prelims. 1st or 12th, it changes nothing as you indicated. However, if 1st, then the debate would be on the suposition that they would have won finals as well. Either way this is a Catch 22, we can't win! Rocketman ampssuck

JoJo: I have to agree with you, and the only way to resolve this for good would be to produce the sheets (if they exist, which is also debated) and/or release the score. We knew what another disqualified corps scored in prelims so, it is not without precedent. But then again, we would probably never talk about this again (RIGHT!) I agree with your assments for the most part. I would also add the crowd reacted most to BD when they had some guy screaming out a triple "Z" and not much for any other part of the show. This tells me, ensemble wise, there isn't much for the crowd to react to. Whereas, Vanguard was more exciting from an ensemble standpoint. Both shows were enjoyable but, to be honest, it would not surprise me to see Vanguard ahead of BD come August. That doesn't mean I expect SCV to win. From a "potential" standpoint, SCV takes it. Take away BD's screamers and, well, I'm not so sure people would care about the show. Just my 2 cents Rocketman - ampssuck

Mom: It is OBVIOUS, we are bias to our respective corps. I will also agree that Madison indeed had a great drum line. And as much as we can all debate numbers, a quick look at recaps shows that the judges must have been REALLY impressed by those 16th notes with left hand leads, in order to somehow rate the line first in DA (Drumming analysis/content) on both nights! (We fooled 'em twice, imagine that!) But, as I indicated, from prelims and being down .10 in GE M&M (our best caption) with what we knew to be a BAD show, to finals, a considerably better show, but now down .40 in GE M&M (Dropping from 3rd to 6th), well, I seriously doubt Shirley Whitcomb wasn't as bias as you or I. It is unfortunate her bias came shinning through. If we had kept the same score (9.8), it would have looked thus: PR 91.65 SCV 91.55 Opps, my bitterness is showing again.
