  1. I've bought Slalom, Equus, Church Windows mvt. 2, Elsa's, and Puck. All the same version as the ones that appear here. I think you may have gotten recommendations from my itunes!
  2. I was thinking the same thing. The webcam got the end of the "Simple Gifts" company front, and now it's now my desktop background! And there do seem to be many holes with SCV. I wonder what would they do if the girl who does the toast gets sick. (I mean, obviously, they wouldn't have it. But part of the effectiveness would disappear as well.)
  3. In Murfreesboro, there wasn't a new ending, at least, I didn't notice any difference. I was told the guard did something different, but I don't usually watch guard, especially when my face is getting blasted by a hornline. Edit: Apparently I was completely oblivious to the change, but I guess I just assumed people meant the really loud ending reference to 2006 was where the change would occur. So where is the change then?
  4. Actually, I'm fairly certain that those were the two side Drum Majors. Not guard members. The part that he doesn't mention is that the Bluecoats don't have a dm at all for an extended period of the show, at least from what I saw. Because the center is turned around to face the audience while they remove his jacket. Also, the Murfreesboro crowd LOVES Phantom Regiment. Lots of gasps when they were announced in 4th. Seemed like a really really good show for them, probably because the crowd was so loud for them.
  5. Turns out, as of yesterday before noon, 8 corps were without housing. HNC and Spirit were two of these. I'm sure many of them have found housing by now though. I know Spirit is now staying at Columbia Central HS
  6. I remember seeing pictures of BD at Lebanon. Both BD and the Lebanon HS band seemed to enjoy the experience. Hmm. I bet it has something to do with the administration, or the facilities getting overhauled. Bluecoats were at Page last year. Their staff has connections with Bluecoats, so it's possible they'll be there again. I'll ask around with a couple directors around the Murfreesboro area and see if I can get any results for you regarding HNC. (I completely understand wanting to see them, saw them rehearse Monday in Fort Walton and I was struggling with holding back a big teethy smile. )
  7. Blue Devils are actually at Antioch this year. And if I remember correctly, Cavaliers were at Smyrna HS last year and are there again this year. You said you know some Tuba players in HN? If you have any phone connection to them, try asking them to find out, or email the Cadets if that doesn't work out.
  8. SCV and PR are at Riverdale HS in South Murfreesboro. SCV on thursday, PR on friday. Crown is at Forrest HS. Edit: SCV isn't there on wednesday.
  9. Cadets just ended outside rehearsal early due to impending rain. At least I got my face blown off before hand.
  10. Should the show get rained out, would there be a standstill? Where would that happen? Spirit's staying in the cafeteria because they are fixing the gym, according to someone I know who is involved with Spirit. So I'd assume that the gym would be unable to be used for that as well.
  11. Are the Bluecoats outperforming their repertoire? Scores from last night show that GE Music Rep. is an 8.40 whereas GE Music Prfm. is an 8.50. Forgive me if I'm completely off base with what the subcaptions of GE actually mean, but if that is what the judge is saying with the scores, how will this fare for them later on? And how is this even possible?
  12. I'd disagree with the bolded statement. I bet there were 3 maybe 4 (possibly even 5) corps that were entirely happy. Of course Regiment, then Blue Stars for sure, and Madison. I'd be willing to bet that Carolina Crown and Bluecoats were pretty happy following that announcement. With CC making 4th and scoring extremely high for 4th, and Bluecoats passing Santa Clara at finals. Winning isn't everything. (Although it is something :D)
  13. Wouldn't surprise me. BD wasn't finished on saturday and Bluecoats finished on monday. BD seemingly finished on monday as well, which I infer from twitter, but even if they finished it sunday, that's just one day difference and the Bluecoats just traversed the country. Are the Blue Devils not an "elite" corps anymore? Didn't HNC just finish during this week too?
  14. 1993 Star of Indiana closer, simple red flags... the way they just strike with the impacts and how it simulates the fury is awesome.
  15. Quoted from the Bluecoats Forums: "Parts are now available on CorpsData for One Day I'll Fly Away, Fanfare For Rocky and the 2009 opener, The Children's Hour Of Dream."
  16. I noticed that Blue Stars' drill seems easier than the rest of the top 10(like it was written for them not expecting the talent they had), although they did do it well. Which is where we reach the demand vs. execution question with judging. I agree with dans on the Blue Devils, that show is really growing on me.
  17. According to my International Baccalaureate Music book, music is sound with musical intent(or something like that, I don't have the book on me). So spoken word, if intended by the staff to be music, is music. 4'33" by John Cage? I personally believe that where people have a bone to pick with amped vocals is that it's something people aren't used to yet.
  18. In a similar way to the "Best Closer" thread. What's your favorite ballad? My favorite is "My Heart and I" in Bluecoats 2006(Connexus). I love the low brass.
  19. Yeah, that's how I caught it. Ha. However I'd never watched the multi-cam before yesterday. It's a tiny quality in the show and some people don't have access to the multi-cam.
  20. In Crown 07, before the trumpet solo in Red Pony, the soloist gets tossed a rifle, then he tosses it back to the guard member right before the solo starts.
  21. It's dropped during a tiny battery percussion feature, about two measures long. I can't link the video... But on google, the first vid that pops up if you search for 2003 cavaliers. The feature is at about 7:53. The drop is as the mallets are put away, second tenor from the left.
  22. Brentwood has a strong program which is full of class and has weathered many hardships throughout the years. Please don't disrespect our region with any of your biased statements. Back on topic: Did the roof and "window" remain closed the entire show? And also, I seem to remember someone talking about an A/C sound problem that existed at either the soundcheck or a football game. Was there any noticeable sound from a heater?
