  1. What are you the most excited to see/hear this season? I'm excited to see the Blue Stars visual program, as I love Myrons work. I am also anxious to hear the JD/Bloo team up at SCV. I feel like Fanfare for a Common Man will also be a brass moment to remember - at least I'm hoping so. Hope to catch that one in the lot
  2. I think its an incredibly lame video. And from someone who frequents top 40 radio at least once a week, I've never heard of this guy
  3. I must ask, was your db meter mounted in the exact same place each time, or were you simply holding it and 'pointing' at the corps.
  4. This is not at all true. Finale is still running strong and is used widely. 2012 came out just weeks ago Sibelius is now owned by Avid which is probably a horrible thing, but certainly helps them with marketing. Now that you mention wheels turning, I have been thinking. If you wanted to replace pyware, it would be as simple as creating a drill writing program that is intuitive and easy to use. Pyware is the most confusing convoluted program I've ever tried to use!
  5. If I'm doing a show about planets, will this algorithm be smart enough to realize this and deign conceptual drill accordingly?
  6. I'm sure what you're suggesting is certainly possible, but I just don't think its a good idea.
  7. For those who may not know, Turandot is where Nessun Dorma comes from. Check out the opener from their 91 show.
  8. Why don't you get back to us when you've designed the visual package for multiple championship shows.
  9. It was an unbelievably good and emotion driven show, that placed 5th. I don't know how that qualifies as "just breaking into finals"
  10. Just going to throw this one out there..... Have you SEEN Boston's 2000 show?
  11. I believe he is the assistant director (maybe head of the marching band?) but yes
  12. Haha, honestly its an honest mistake given the level they've been performing at the last several years. the Communiformity show was brilliant
  13. You find this abstract? It sounds straight up like head bobbing heavy metal to me!
  14. What kind of meter are you using and how are you positioning. I got wildly different results at allentown
  15. I dont know that ive ever disagreed with a post as much as this one, ever. Can this not be said for any corps? They had a very difficult, and entertaining, show and for the most part performed the heck out of it
  16. Last I checked, the cavaliers didn't allow females in their drumline.
  17. I don't know that I would classify angry dissonant chords for 12 minutes as subtly and nuance.
  18. You should have just walked back in. I seriously doubt any of them would ever have the cahones to throw you out
  19. Another prime example....the cavaliers have this friggin epic drawn out brass moment about a minute from the end of the show...ends in an arch with a huge sustain and amazing cutoff. At several shows I've been at nobody has even clapped! I mean...what more do you need!? I'm certainly not calling anyone out and I realize and understand some people are more reserved than others. The performers do benefit from a more live audience for sure
