Totally agree. The diversity in the corps is incredible and I love the differences. I enjoy it much more on an artistic and execution level. Top shows this year are all terrific and very different from one another

But WHICH audience member. I agree with the results and love the top corps. The middle tier that many say are getting underscored tend to bore me. So?

Eh. I've been to tons of local guard / WGI shows which are well attended and it just isn't students This same "debate" has been raging in DCI since the 80s, heck the 70s... Right now we have a couple midwest corps not winning who the crowd (locals) love and everyone is getting their panties in a bind. Saw the same thing a lot in the early 90s with Star beating Madison/Cavaliers/Phantom etc.. This isn't anything new. Folks need to change with the times If you can't turn on your local "top 40s" radio station and enjoy what you're hearing you're also probably not going to "get" what today's drum corps kids like to do/play

Reading the comments today and over the weekend on DCP can be headache inducing I can always tell when the Cadets are in the midwest and "their" favorite corps are getting beat - suddenly Cadets are boring blah blah blah Same crap, different year...

Guys - you've got to change with the times! Otherwise you just end up feeling old and bitter.

I can always tell when the corps are in the midwest and one or more of their local favorites are "more entertaining" and "not getting the credit they deserve" Reminds me of Star of Indiana getting booed constantly because Madison and their ten company fronts per show didn't win

I always go to prelim and semi - and frankly skip finals. Semi are typically the best peformances You get much better seats and tickets are much cheaper - 2 shows literally for the price of finals

^ - thanks It's nice to read something positive on DCP about the Cadets today - the haters are out in force Either they are "boring" or "so clean they will get passed by" or "lose the narrator so they can play more" (they play the whole time of course) I wasn't excited about the show this year having hard reports during the winter, but it is a Cadet classic and a masterful piece of writing by the staff. The members are gobbling it up and performing the heck out of it with four weeks to go! I enjoy it - especially the second half - but hope they add a few more wows before finals. I suspect they will G.
