  1. oh gosh yeah... hearing both injuries are minor so hopefully back by Saturday!
  2. lets not base too much on one read at the first show with Cadets missing a snare... ok?
  3. The gap on the field was about 1 point - it just got swelled by the 5 judge panel. Cadets drums are insane for this early
  4. They are marching 8 - I guess just 7 available for that run
  5. Hopkins posted on FB a picture of the opening set of guard uni - this set is for Lincoln. First set is all that has arrived https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/t1.0-9/10418145_10152242537591911_2116188468684010925_n.jpg Very modern look
  6. does this sound like a sixth or lower place corps? https://soundcloud.com/pillyg/cadets-2014#t=11:58
  7. I'm sad I didn't get to see the video. Hearing great things about 'Coats this year!
  8. very very strong preseason run. Program is quite effective already, even just on video. I feel the visual design is much more effective, while still being as difficult as last years. Last year the challenge was immense but I personally didn't find it as effective as this already is. will be a great season from BD!
  9. a very nice pre-season run from Crown -- that's for sure! I'd say around a 72-75 tonight from Crown - probably first, possibly second. The scores take the first couple shows to kinda settle down and reflect what is actually on the field. Like any of us it's hard for the judges to assess everything on the first read - and plus we're talking 5 judge panels
  10. with percussion being scored I'd say: Cadets 73.1 Crown 72.4 Cavaliers 68.5 Regiment 67.3 Troopers 58.8 we shall see... :)
  11. all drum corps loses a ton on video and let's face it - it is all "must see it live" -- lol which drives us all crazy driving and flying all over the USA
  12. agree that they add to the visual clutter, they also "read" a lot easier in the drill so they will need to be very clean this year, mistakes will really pop out
  13. lol... there's being a fan and then there's being a defender of all things - ie: fandom I love Crown. This is redudent. Very.
  14. Cadets did in 2006 - and it was an unmitigated disaster lol
  15. it's the same show as the past 2 years... with elements from many others tossed in opener and closer were strong but the middle will need a lot of work - obviously it's just June so that's to be expected but honestly the program fell very flat (even to the home crowd) for the middle 8 minutes percussion still seems to be a sore spot field seems very cluttered visually guard strong and brass wicked strong Top 3 for sure
  16. yup they did last year too which is probably why they just reversed the purple to the guard and turquoise to the corps proper
  17. Agreed. Helps get everyone pumped for the season & I'm sure helps recruitment and ticket sales too.
  18. The designers seem to have really settled into a pattern of programming the past few years. I wonder when the judges will start calling them out on it... starting to feel a little redundant
