  1. I'll be there. Hope to see some more of you there.
  2. Wow - so many.... Garfield 83 - the first recording of drum corps I ever heard and got me interested. PR '83, and '96, SCV '84, Cadets '87, '93, Suncoast '86, Crossmen '97, ... the list goes on and on.
  3. Only about 55... sorry but It WAS funny..
  4. HUGE golf clap and back slaps to the Vigilantes drum line for top percussion class A!
  5. OK, now THAT is great! Coming from a computer support guy that is sick of printers...!
  6. I have to give a +1 for the idea of bringing back the retreat of the late 1980's. Bring 'em all out as a group (fun to see who is the longest...), announce the scores while the corps pose in the background. Let them be dismissed in reverse order, playing a bit and then saluting the winner of the show as they leave with some show of respect and major crowd appreciation.
  7. This is killin' me! They cut off photo sharing sites here at work recently and I can't see any of the pictures except for the few attachments. ACKKK!!!
  8. Sounds like lots of good support out there. Wish I were making the trip. Good luck to everyone!
  9. The Richardson, TX based first year corps had a finals send off show on Sunday for friends and family. Wow. A Paul Rennick drumline. All UNT students as far as I could see. 8/4/4 drumline. They just lost a bass drum and one couldn't make the show so they only marched two for the send off show but it still rocked. I think Paul said he was going to pick up a bass drummer in Rochester and teach him/her the show in a couple days.... wow again. Really strong. I liked the show - smooth hornline. Great guard work and dancing. The show nicely brings across the old time feel they want to project. Class A finals? Maybe - they're only a fraction of a point out of it right now and they've put in some nice changes since...

  11. I marched there 86-88, getting nostalgic lately and hearing some old names.
  12. I was in the Emerald Knights for a year in 1989 so I voted for them but I wish the Railmen (who were Omaha, NE but also kinda Council Bluffs, IA ish) could have been included, eh.
  13. Had to say hello. I played for the Railmen 1986 through 1988. Bass line in 86 and snare line 87 and 88. What an experience. I was asked to be part of the All Stars in Dallas in 88. I still have the photo, my snare drum and uniform from that year. In 1989 I transferred schools to U of Iowa and went and marched with the Emerald Knights from Cedar Rapids out of pure convienience. I wish I could have made it back to Omaha for that season. I didn't get to march my age out year which would have been 1990. However, I did march with Frontier - a new DCA corps in Dallas, TX in 2006. Now they're gone already and have now reformed as the Vigalantes.
