  1. Nice Blue Stars! Ballad was gorgeous! I do think the uniform change could use some work, but overall, really enjoyed it!
  2. Yay! I've seen lots of low quality videos and snippets, will be good to see a high quality full performance. Get it Blue Stars!
  3. I get that set now! It's the face with a hat, beard form around it. Cute.
  4. Growing up in a home with a mom that watched The Wizard of Oz as a kid ALL the time when she grew up in Kansas, I really enjoyed it. I called her up here to watch it too (she's watched me through high school and college band, she knows what's going on), and she REALLY enjoyed it. Nice job Colts!
  5. Oh this is child's play compared to the kind of stuff I read on other sites. I love DCP too, you've got every mix and match of people, parents, and fans from the activity. There's awesome discussion on here, of course looking past the obvious trolls, troublemakers, ect. And I agree, I have a feeling some people wouldn't react the same way they do on here face to face, there's something easy about getting it all out on a keyboard, and that's not to discredit what some people have to say by any means. I'm just curious like I said.
  6. That's the answer I'm expecting with most, if not everyone that replies to this little thread, and I completely agree. When you invest a large amount of time, passion, money, relationships, ect. into something, you can't just let go. And hey, I'm not a fan of everything that's changed either, and there's nothing wrong with speaking up and saying hey, I don't like it and here's why. My main interest is in those that think the activity is dead, is glorified marching band, and that it is awful. Why do those that think it is so far gone beyond repair and their enjoyability, still like to stir up hell about it even though they are so disgusted?
  7. Watching this forum over the years, it seems like the amount of threads getting derailed and threads about the decline of drum corps is as high as ever. There's some good discussion that goes on in some instances, and some great points made. Everyone has a right to their opinion, and I fully respect that, this thread isn't an attack against any of those people. I'm just, curious? I have been wondering this for awhile, and just thought I'd get it out there. Why do you stay, follow, and comment on the activity? Some people have such disgust for what goes on, what it is becoming, and where it is going, that I wonder what keeps them coming back? There's obviously something there, or you wouldn't care and raise hell about it all. There's SOMETHING that you like. I know it. I just want a simple, as short as possible answer. That's all. It's gonna happen, but please don't argue with each other, shoot down everyone's post because yours is better blah blah. Such a stupid and pointless request, I know. I'm just interested, especially in the ones that think all is lost, why do you keep following the activity?
  8. Interested to see where The Academy falls in with the Mandarins and Pacific Crest. That's an awesome lineup of Open Class corps! Good to see.
  9. So I'm interested in how that spread between the Bluecoats and Cadets is tonight, last night was promising.
  10. lol I always love watching this one, brings back the memories of my reactions while in high school. Good times, so innocent, impressed by every #### thing, and full of wonder. Good times.
  11. The same for can be said for your posts.
  12. It's hair. On the face. Most men have it, some females have it. I tend to stay away from those with excessive amounts. It grows on the face, hence, facial. Some is white, some is black, some is ginger, some is brown. Some people can't grow it because it's patchy (like me ), some people, hence the Cadets ball busting testosterone aplenty filled drumline, just can't stop it, and it's majestic as ####. But it doesn't bother me on a drumline or corps, never has.
  13. Yay webcast! Very excited to see some high quality video of Blue Stars and Colts.
  14. Yeah I'm gonna wait until Drums Along the Rockies, and Denton when I see them live, and then the last few webcasts and such to make a determination. I don't hate what I see so far, and I really like some of it.
  15. We'll see, will be interesting once they're around corps that are more their caliber, IE Madison, Boston, Blue Stars, Troopers, ect.
  16. BK percussion behind Vanguard's by .3. Nice! Have a really good friend in the front ensemble, good to hear.
  17. The pit's the best part of their percussion section to me, couldn't tell a whole lot, but they sounded great to me. They have a GREAT book, a little early season dirt, but not a 62/100 in execution IMO.
  18. Just saw a video, easily my favorite since 2010, most upbeat since 2009 for sure. Don't get me wrong, loved the darker shows of the past few seasons, but this is nice. Made me feel all fuzzy watching it . Not a guard person, but they look KILLER! Those silks are beautiful, love the amount of equipment work throughout. Brass seems hugely improved since last year, drumline's book is awesome. That ballad is one of the best of the season, absolutely gorgeous. Closer is really cool too. Obviously some additions to be made for the boards still, but it's a really awesome show. This show should clean up nicely, wherever it lands is fine by me, but I don't think it's going to be lower than 11th, we'll see. I'm still a huge fan regardless, right up there with Bluecoats and Boston Crusaders for my favorite show this year. Happy 50th Blue Stars! This is a perfect way to celebrate it.
  19. Yay! The Academy has been my favorite non finalist for years, good to hear they are putting on a good show this year.
