As I was always taught, however didnt happen all the time, the specified leaders kind of lead the older kids in the focus and intensity of the practice, while teaching the younger kids. The younger kids would end up following all of the older guys. However, the encouragement would do quite a bit, but always stayed set until the sec ldr felt like dropping. If things wernt going or progressing as they should, there would be another way of encouraging such as laps, pushups, and yelling. However mostly we were raised on self-induced dicipline, like if you miss your set by even a bit or you crack a note etc you drop. Oh well that's some of what we did.

Thank you!!! I hated it even when I was a kid Also, it would make corps connect to the audience more, and I personally think its not to cool to vote for your fav just because they are the so and so. However if corps connect to the audiences more, in my view, then it will become more likable when trying to bring new people into the activity, its just not right to design a show around a box full of judges, I find it more appeasing in my view to have the crowd love you for that show and talk about you for years to come with that thought comes crown 07, they didnt win but its permanently engraved in my head. Just my view

But I mean its the fan award of people who are present, it should just be something for a corps that doesnt rank very high to get, cause I mean corps will have som fans come to make sure they win, and in my view the DCI world chapions is the big thing you actually aim for, though I can see the evils in that crowd award

So I was thinking of this, what if the fans at DCI finals (ive never been just clearing that up) were able to somehow vote for their favorite after all the shows, like scanning their ticket and punching an electronic button to vote for their favorite, and before they do all of the presentations of the scores and places, they could hand the crowd favorite trophy to whatever corps the crowd selects. thats what the above poll is about, either that or keep it how it is. Anyways I was just thinking that since everything is changing with all of those electronics and what not maybe that could be an option, it may cause more people to try to come to finals and all? feel free to debate just dont flame the mess outta me. <--- flame suit

I sill say most recently that Crown is the loudest at the moment, however Scouts have DVD so im curious as to where they'll be soon.

Well I mean i dont say"your gay go die" I just say keep it to yourself and leave me out of it. It is America, I disagree with the whole marriage aspect but heck there's 300+ million other people.

Never marched, but I think you are right when you say that the name doesnt match the organization now. but DCA does match I believe... However in my view the actual bugle is without valves, but its closse enough to count I guess.

eh, not really one place, its more of The Avenue, or The mall, stuff like that, theres not to many places, its just general areas. I dont know how it is for college students, but thats what its like for us high school students. Um, to get a group together, theres all sorts of resturants near the stadium. Oh and before the Red Rose went under, it was bought out and turned into a gay bar from what I heard, yuck... theres a whole lot of places, just not one area from what I know.

where people cant shut up about how crown can do it better, or cavies way is the better way, yes im a die hard crown fan, but that annoys me so much, but hey i did it my 1st time to, ignorance is bliss.

I would say cavies 02, good book, and great drill, theres more than just playin loud so I do like them, my second would be between devs 09 and regiment 08, nice loud hornlines with ok drill and great music

just curious, your in a BC uniform, so did you march for BC when you were in high school? I know that my high school you march for corps and miss all of pre-camp, band-camp, and the first day of school. i asked and was told either you do that and your not in band anymore or you wait till your out of high school and you join it then. Im waiting, I mean if I can only afford one year ill atleast take my high school years while I can get them, why waste a good thing?

Well, I'd say its between Crown, Cadets, Devs, and maybe Phantom when they pull back up Cant really compare, its more of an experience, basically as loud as you dreamed you could get in marching band back in high school sit about middle center on the 50, thats where I was, if your in the front/middle then youll get alot more of an eaful, the higher you are themore of level 3 youll get, and you see more drill, but right in the middle/a touch high you get at alot of sund and you see the drill, thats where I sit at Murfreesboro.

1) Dumb question, obviously the Cadets I mean you have Hopkins 2) Well, quite a bit see last answer 3) well, I would say in the long term they would all use it in order to compete with each other, but starting off, I would say the ones not using them would be scouts, troopers, coats, phantom, crown, and possibly a few more, just im to tired to think about it.

Hey everyone forgot about the southeast bands, especially tennessee haha, but yeah ive heard rumors about texas's program, and I'm just curious why dont they have multiple corps other than the Crossmen? Or why the Crossmen are not ranked higher than they are (no offense to them)

I would say you'd have to have a pretty good sized show to make good money, like how here at M'boro last year I ate left my house, there in 10 min, but I wanted cokes when I was there. Anyways It was a long day because if I remember right all of the world class corps came through on a two day deal, this time its only 8 in one day But yeah if you had more than 8 performing I would say you could cook a bit of ribs and make some money selling a package deal with ribs, um but if theres not that many the regular Dogs will cover it. Yeah depends on who is coming, how many people will come due to your location, and how many there are. But ribs are a bit messy which is the only hing that would work aginst you.

Ok, I understand BAC as crusader, and BC as coats, but what does the A in BAC stand for? I mean is it just like an abbreviation between the B & C so that they are distinguishable between coats? ah whatever, ill quit guessin, whats it mean?

yeah, I just figured it was time for the yearly pre season thread about how crown will win it all, and this time to me they seem to have a legit shot to win, you know not a BS post but a real I think they can do it this year.
