Cadets are extremely proficient in everything. There was a time that lead to championships but in the era of opinions, not sure where that gets them. I think they should be in a solid second. Some people don't love the show, but dam they are performing at a level that should have them near the top.

Bluecoats must have performed like crazy tonight. In three captions, their achievement was higher than the content.

I really don't think Cadets, Bluecoats, SCV or Crown are modifying their shows to try and beat BD. Its possible someone will come from behind (Cadets or Bluecoats) but not highly likely given that each panel consistently ranks BD on top in everything but brass and percussion and even that can be argued. All other corps have panels that are inconsistent at best while assigning numbers. My point is these corps still listen to tapes and address areas of their shows that perhaps can be made more effective or performed better. Cadets have more changes to be put in and I'm sure is to max out the product they have more than anything.

This. A few amazing corps behind them pushing their numbers up. I was at the show last night. In recent seasons Cadets and Bluecoats could have won finals with their shows and the judges are trying to reasonably rank them.

Unfortunately it's not the kids winning titles, but rather the design staff so Bluecoats will need to put this calibre design on the field for several years to get to that point. Can't be a hit or miss like Metropolis and then what they did for the next three years....I know you're excited for your corps and rightfully so but it's a difficult process so credit to the BD and Cadets that over decades are up at the top whether a person likes them or not. (Disclaimer): I thought Bluecoats should have won in 2010 and this season I would have BD, Cadets and Bluecoats all within about 1 pt). Different products but all outstandingly developed and performed last night).

We'll never please everyone with show content especially narration but the show was meant to be about "promise and hope" for America so dark gritty narration would probably be inconsistent with the design but I think the show is in good shape now and needs to be cleaned (getting there but guard and percussion a bit rough last night) and would still like a volume turn up on brass in key areas. A solid shot at silver medal but anything higher is seeming to fade based on that increasing gap between them and BD.

Crown and BD both have great lines. (So do Cadets and Bluecoats). Again, the fan judges on personal preferences. I prefer Crown's sound to BD and acknowledge they are moving more while playing vs, BD where I couldn't believe the amount of time they stop and play or move at 50 BPM it seemed. I know...... that doesn't matter but it does affect "my" perception of who is doing what and where a score should be.

Judges judge their "sliver" of the product and follow the sheets of what they are to evaluate and rank. I was at the show and if it were "My senses" judging, would have had BD, Cadets, Bluecoats, Crown in that order and all with 1.2 spread.

Hmmm, I think Bluecoats have settled in on their changes which are very effective and Cadets need another day or two to sharpen all the changes from this week which were very beneficial IMO. Score wise, Cadets have more content and perform very well so I'm not as baffled at Cadets a few tenths over Bluecoats as I am BD 2/3 pointing Cadets/Bluecoats. Yes they're amazing but so are these other 2.

Great show. I agree with placements except Crown should have been over SCV. BD are in a league of their own but I question that gap tonight. They are fantastic but so are the Cadets and Bloo. Cadets energy level much better than before changes and Bloo is just fantastic but man they rely a bit much on electronics but still I really think they're great. I thought Crown was better than SCV, who's show I found boring. (Sorry). Nothing outstanding to me but the percussion. I also thought Cavies were great and would should have been closer to SCV. Phantom was beautiful and I thought their brass was vastly improved. Some great lower brass fullness. I know there are many homers here self included, but watching these corps tonight, there is such fantastic corps in the top few this season.

Another day of cleaning at the stadium should help iron out those new changes that seemed to affect the brass score last night.

BD plays lots of their exposed brass parts standing still while Crown moves. Not sure but that may be factored into the scoring.

I guess with respect to DCI, experience is a bad thing?...

Logical and well stated. I just have find Cadets to be extremely strong in brass this season and that spread indicates several corps between Crown and Cadets in brass and test I don't agree with.
