  1. Congrats to Cadets on breaking that 80 mark! Awesome accomplishment
  2. That new rewind section blew my mind. Even bigger impact here and I'm all for that.
  3. My arms got tired just watching. Cadets sounding fantastic as ever on the encode. I always appreciate how their encodes are so well rehearsed and not just thrown together parade tunes. Shows great care and attention to detail in the corps.
  4. It's mind boggling that Spirit may not make finals even with this huge improvement of talent over last year.
  5. I feel if the title was changed to "slippery slidey" people would complain a lot less about not getting it.
  6. Thank you for saying it. You can actually tell when a corps has taken the time to tune the 11th of a chord or if they just honk and say "make it funky"
  7. People are mad at staff, not kids or the scores. But really, for a corps wanting to "move up" in the competition rankings, being 5 points out of 6th place is not how you do that.
  8. I really am curious what is going on over there. Even if the ending is a temporary one, you have to wonder why something isn't there. Most corps go in knowing most of the closer will change, so why not try at least a little something to get judge feedback? I really hope the closer will knock it out of the park. If it takes this long to field and it's mediocre.... :/
  9. You have no factual basis for this. Only guessing and your opinion. You are more than welcome to have that opinion, but please don't try to present it as fact. When the overall numbers match your statements, then I will believe you.
  10. I hope so. That show feels like they have all the Lego pieces they need to make huge jumps but they are having trouble fitting them all together.
  11. I may be the only person in existence who has no idea what everyone is talking about. There is incredible visual demand. Dancing in unison at those high speeds? High intensity notes and fast drill? Balance and core strength when hanging from the slides and playing? What am I missing that makes all of that stuff so much easier than other shows?
  12. I also agree that Crown's brass has been doing a better job each year with cleaning articulations and stylistic phrasing earlier and earlier in the season. Very strong point that we are going to discuss and nothing else.
  13. I am already imagining a scenario where Bloo and BD are the top two corps with the announcer saying "and in 2nd place, The Blue............................" You would be able to the cut the tension with a knife.
  14. I think you meant to say nice shade of spandex.
  15. I don't question them. I guess that would poke a hole in your "every single person" theory.
  16. Thank you and I wish more people on here will realize this. I don't think people truly realize how stupid they sound when they say things like "x corps will peak early because historically..." not even once thinking this is a different group of kids with a different vehicle. Personally favorite: "x corps is a lock for y placement." There's rooting for your corps and wishful thinking, but saying it's a fact is idiotic. Ask Crown at Finals last year.....
  17. Hey remember that one time you said Cadets were changing uniforms? Good times.
  18. Well apparently we have people on the board who know every staff member from every corps and speak openly with the judges about the closed scores and critiques. I guess that's how they know?
  19. Which I believe is still the case for a lot of corps. I can't think to name any shows this year that don't at least have a few moments of fast paced and high intensity drill (even if only momentarily). For example, try walking around your living room to the pace of some corps closers this year. It's harder than it looks.
  20. Assuming you mean George Hopkins, we could really use some enlightening on how Cadets staff got a hold of a Bloo judge tape.... regardless, they are making the right changes in the right places.
  21. You say it like that's a bad thing. If their shows are entertaining and they perform better than the groups below them, why shouldn't that be rewarded?
  22. Incorrect. The last time I felt salty was circa 1973, approximately the last time the Bluecoats and Crown went head to head. Those scores, of course, cannot be counted.
  23. You hush with those gaps. There were none to compared Cadets to tonight, so enjoy the BIG score they posted tonight. That has to feel good to the corps members.
  24. Since the last time Bluecoats and Crown went head to head was some time back in the 1990's, I'm not sure those scores can be counted any more. We can look at any potential gaps at Finals, and then start to contemplate where corps may end up at the end of season. Then, a few weeks after that, we can see what adjustments have been made between shows. But Crown will probz smash them lol
