Any lock for Top 3?
THeShadeOfNight replied to Fred Windish's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It's been at least 3 months since Crown and Bluecoats have competed, making past scores pretty irrelevant. -

Any time Bluecoats are mentioned around here -

So basically all scores are invalid until Crown beats Bloo. Then they become valid again. Noted. -

Nah I'm pretty sure it's just money. And "staging without really marching" (apparently) -

Care to share with us these judges tapes you somehow have gotten a hold of? Would love to hear some more of their insight. -

The logic is they don't like Bluecoats beating their honk corps of choice. Sugar coat it with "well if their show was better I would be OK with it" as much as you want. These are the facts. -

It really is hard to pinpoint that other top spot! I almost wish there was another corps that was undefeated this season that has yet to show any slow down........hmm........ -
Bruh. I do agree with them in that I wish Cadets would play even more of Pines. I don't think I will ever say in my life "that corps is playing far too much Pines for my liking," though. Especially that trombone timbre

Woah now, friend. I do agree Madison wins high vis here, but I'm not sure in "every aspect." Both perform their techniques very well and both have stellar CG. The major difference is in design and effect. -
THAT I am 100% on board with you on. I will say that when it comes to movement, they have one of the best choreographers around. It doesn't feel like "body movement for the sake of extra difficulty points," but feels very musical and almost never feels out of place.

Beanpot Invitational - Lynn, MA July 3rd

Towards the end of the year I could see that, yes. Early season I think it would be pretty easily distinguishable from the fundamentals. Who matches articulation best? Which corps has the best balance between the currently playing instruments? Is the melody always heard properly? Is there a tone change at fast tempos/low dynamics? Etc. -
....rest of the props? There are more cakes?

Interesting. I'm not sure I would agree with calling those all "updated," although I do agree those listed things make the show very enjoyable.
-
Please tell me the "Adonis" statue doesn't do his "I just saw a bee" dance at the end anymore. Makes no thematic sense (they didn't do that coming awake?) and looks just weird.
-
What you define as an "updated feel?" I'm mostly asking because I agree it's traditional but I'm not sure what's new or updated about it other than using a trombone.

Nope! If this is going to be their first gold, why not make it undefeated? Go big! -

It could happen! I could also win the lottery jackpot too ;) wishing everyone a great show and hope someone gives a live play by play! Such an exciting season with ever increasing talent! -
They are trying to give me time to prepare my tears for that Saturn song.

Yes because it is the KIDS making these posts. These KIDS are the ones spewing hate and putting down other programs. So let's be sure to lump these KIDS with the mean posters. Idiot. I know for a fact current members have a wide range of friends in a wife range of corps and they are all incredibly sweet and supportive of each other no matter the numbers. You are free to dislike whomever you wish on this forum but don't you DARE speak poor of that organization or its members because of some renegade fans who don't even work there. -
Yes, how dare they have opinions in a Crown thread? Though to be fair I could barely hear them over the outrageous amount of honking sounds in here. (FWIW, I don't want the Crown either. If they win, let it be all fresh and exciting drill they win with. Unless they want a "Seco4d Chance" again.)

Found another run through video of this show. I don't even care how thus finishes, it is a clear winner in my book and the staff has some SERIOUS guts putting this oshow out there. And those trumpet soloists? How are more people not talking about the sheer talent standing up there. Screamers for days and intensity behind every note from each player. Arguably the best tpt line Bloo has had
