  1. I would be willing to bet a barley pop that these are the placements tomorrow.
  2. When I read your post, I went "AHA! Exactly!" Some Corps' have a style. For example: Rotating a linear form. (These can be individual subforms of the drill within the overall form) Some Corps have a style that the individual goes directly from point A to B which causes the spacing to accordion during the transition. This drives me crazy sometimes. Other Corps teach that the individual takes a curved path which maintains the spacing and holds the integrity of the form. It's harder to clean but, IMO, more impressive when executed.
  3. Zingali taught us that the majority of a show is spent in transition. NOT on your dot. (Example: If it's a 12 count set, 11 of those counts are in transition and 1 is on your dot.) Makes sense, right? So you worship the form. But... you darn well better be on your dot when the set is completed.
  4. Ummm... wow. From last night - PR up 1.0 / MS up 2.6 / SoA up .2 Not baggin' on anyone. (Love all 3 of these teams) Just wondering what's up.
  5. I'm doubting it. Granny declared her undying love for Hop. Maybe Boo get angry. Boo SMASH!
  6. Last time I saw her here was when Mike Boo was making a high speed run at her. I wonder if she agreed to a date? Now she's not been seen in awhile... Hmmmm. Maybe the Boo tiger needs to answer some questions.
  7. There are a few who know. I got an answer so I yanked my original post down to keep Corps X from getting smeared. Wrongfully. There's a post in a different thread that touches on what I originally posted.
  8. Great job, SPIRIT!!! Broke 75 tonight. Keep pushing - it's paying off!!
  9. And there it is. I need to Thank you, Mike. I knew you'd come thru for me. See, I made a side bet with another DCP'er that you'd find a way somehow to turn Teal ending their tour into a WW in DCI reference. PAY UP! You know who you are. Bwahahahahaha
  10. I wish I could. I've been backtracking trying to find where I read that. No luck yet but I'm still looking. I referenced the post from NakedEye as the e-mail is from Teal and follows along the same line.
  11. I was under the impression that DCI did make an effort to eyeball Corps' finances over the winter. The motivation for this being what happened last year at Finals. Teal released a statement (after the bus company fiasco) that they had to disclose their finances to DCI to prove that they were financially viable before heading out on tour. Anyone else see that? I hope my mind isn't fuzzy on this. A little help please?
  12. The story as I understand it is that the original bus company busted the contract and has not refunded the money back to Teal. This has caused a cash flow nightmare while the Corps is out on tour now. The money is out there but Teal doesn't have it back yet. So, yes, the money will be available. Eventually. (If this is incorrect then it changes how I feel about it.)
  13. Personally, I really don't see much of a difference if it's profit or non-profit. If I had paid in full and my kid only got a partial tour - I'd want a percentage refund. My kid didn't get what he/we paid for. That isn't unreasonable. The cold hard reality of wanting a refund and actually getting one is a whole different thing.
  14. Any reports of rioting endangering the Corps? Any Acts of God?
  15. Perhaps I'm cold-hearted when it comes to getting a partial refund for the members/parents but the Corps didn't deliver on it's side of the bargain. Maybe not the best analogy but it's the best I can come up with: Say you purchase a 7 week cruise. 2 weeks into the cruise, the captain announces that you're returning home. Finances, debts, blah blah blah etc... whatever. Do you: A: Expect to be refunded for the percentage of the trip you didn't get. or B: Well, golly gee, I hope that poor cruise line gets back on it feet. They should keep my money. Yeah. I'm bettin' you lawyer up and try to get part of your money back. Yes, it does suck for the kids. For them, I'm very sad that they won't finish their season.
  16. Is Robby Recap out sick over there at dci.org or what?
  17. Thanks. I thought the mid-to-late 90's were pretty cool. For the most part.
  18. Lets talk about Spirit closing the gap! 2 shows ago ~ 1.9 1 show ago ~ .9 Tonight ~ .5 Great job! Now, don't be rude... be sure to wave as you go by.
  19. 125.8 before heading into Finals week? Not bad. Not bad at all!
