Phantom doing a show about aliens? Who had that on their BINGO card??? But I love it!

That’s what I was thinking too. That’s a critique many have pointed out about Crown for the last several seasons. Wise design choice to remove them, IMO.

I know it’s been said before but I’m just so relieved to see Crown layering this year. I firmly believe showing their hand too early was one of the biggest factors that “did them in” last season. I have no idea where this show will finish but it’s so refreshing to see the design team making all the right choices this year!

I’m speculating here but I think it’s been removed from the show. I’m actually not mad about it, if I’m being honest.

Loving the changes! I’m guessing there’s still more to come as there will almost certainly be a crown set added by Indy.

I was lucky to catch them at all three Dallas area shows this summer. That symphonic sound live is…chef’s kiss!

I’m gonna answer my own question and guess that it was removed from the show. The staging has been adjusted around it so it looks to be permanent.

I wonder if the first table was removed from the show or if it just wasn’t going to fit through the stadium’s tunnel.

For sure. Some of these high school stadiums put my college’s stadium to shame. The venue hosting a show tomorrow in McKinney is a perfect example of that. Football is basically a religion here. Fortunately for us, marching band isn’t too far behind. It’s certainly no coincidence that DCI puts so many shows here every summer.

Mesquite ISD isn’t one of the Texas school districts known for spending millions on their sports facilities so I wouldn’t bet on it. 🥴

The stadium is undergoing renovations this summer. The video board that used to house the stadium’s sound system is currently being rebuilt. So Dan is essentially using a temporary PA system tonight.

Same thing happened to Cadets in 2007. You can actually hear some of it on the Finals night recordings. That Cali crowd haaaaaated that show.

Agreed. But fans are way more polite today than they used to be. Cadets were openly bood in 2006-2008. It was ugly.

Almost certainly. They’re just layering this year. And good for them for learning from last year.

I actually showed up to the Denton show so early yesterday (because I forgot about the delayed start too) that I got to park for free.

I’ll be so much happier once I can fully tune out scores. Otherwise, this cycle of Crown finishing 4th every year is going to drive me mad.

Yes, they beat Crown head to head in Little Rock.

And this is why I’m not a betting man.

I can’t say yet that I prefer this version over Colt’s 2017 but I will say that this BD ballad has grown on me. BD does ballads exceptionally well.

I tried that in 2011. I don’t recommend it.

I’ll say that it takes me a little longer each year for some shows to grow on me. But I usually come around on most of them. It’s been a while since there’s been a top 12 show that’s done absolutely nothing for me by finals night.

Yikes! I’ve actually been on the other side of that. Just as my small HS band was about to begin our show, a train was passing. We stood at attention for what felt like an eternity waiting for that thing to pass.
