  1. 1990 WOW there were some flat shows from the top to the bottom!
  2. I went from California to Madison. Let me tell you first hand, MADISON got it right with the WOOL jacket. Yes, after the show, no shirt and the jacket is pure comfort. And of course on the bus, it feels like a warm blanket. Besides, it's a Scout jacket! b**bs
  3. I think Bluecoats have the respect of drum corps fans and it shows here on Drum Corps Planet. With that said, I don't think that Bluecoats have taken the chances that some of the other corps (Madison and above) have OFTEN taken. Bluecoats are very safe and don't push the envelope. I think BC is left off of so many BEST OF polls simply because they don’t Stand Out. I believe it’s because Coast are just too safe. We all know that Bluecoats are getting better at doing what they do…. Now I would like to see them do something innovative and make a statement for themselves. Bluecoats placement 2005-1980 5,6,7,7,8,12,13,10,11,7,7,9,9,11,11,8,8,11,11,15,28,29,33,31 They are still kinda new to the Top Of The Heap.
  4. This where Cavis gets their inspiration for their guard costumes. I've said it before........... You can line up just about every one of Cavies Guard costumes and put them on any Russian ICE skater! Right?
  5. for ~ CROWN ~ .........and feel free to use a mic for this one....... A full production using "Springtime for Hitler and Germany" (no, not the Producers, just this section)
  6. CHECK THIS OUT: 1998 Cadets cool ending to Stonehenge, the final sets from the guard framing the horns as the horns do a tight follow the leader then unwind from 4 points. Now watch Scouts do the same drill. in 1997. 1997 Madison Scouts the end of the opener... same spot from the guard, now on all flag, frames the horns as the horns do a tight follow the leader then unwind from 4 points.
  7. They did Red Pony after Vanguard and Cadets..... and Kicked ###
  8. At MADISON we were sent a hunting base-ball cap and a six pack or Old Milwaukee Beer!
  9. I heard Erte winter guard got booed in their day! Also ahead of their time.......... (They kicked ###)
  10. Yes. and Yes. Close Third .........Cadets WWS 1994
  11. Great guard for 1988 is true, Cadets were doing this story telling in 2005! I excused how poor the guns for Suncoast were because they had such a forward show.............. Best guns ever???? I could come up with at least 40 rifle lines, (no kidding) that were better then Suncoast Sound's 88 line. ~Don't confuse style with content~
  12. No it means Crown would have more "meat" in their guard and not have to stand still every time they released a toss.......... (Credit to crowns guard staff, you can score very well in DCI by just being clean)
  13. (you mean YOU guys WERE yelling Bluuuuuue? )
  14. Good Trivia! I like that my team was in there somewhere!
  15. I bet crown's guard would move under tosses and not have have some "meat" in their guard work while they do drill!
  16. I loved our Scouts wedge we did at the end of 88.
  17. Madison: 88 Velvet Knights: 92 SkyRyders: Over the Rainbow 86 Phantom: 83 (1812), 2003 Cavies: Pines of Rome
  18. Are you talking about that candy cane shape for Evita?
  19. AND JAY the way St Anthony's could just "glide" for 7 minutes......... Then go to Raiders "Patty Hurst" drill was ground breaking....they no longer marched forms....
  20. Pre 2003 Boston post-ers told us over and over how They would be top 5 and don't forget MAGIC was gonna take everyone down! Pre 2004 Boston is gonna be top 3.................Wait till you see Crown they're gonna be top 5, and SCV is going to WIn w/ this show for sure. Pre 2005 After 2004 Phantom was gonna win hands down, Bluecoats are gonna win drums and be top 3! Crown will win horns for sure, AND................SCV is gonna win with RCM. Pre 2006 It's all starting again.... BlueCoats? Crown? SCV? Make the call Fans
  21. It was perfect trip in every way, my Scout brothers and I talk about the experence now (as near 40-year-old-men,) as if it was yesterday! (would drum corp kids Hang out in Amsterdam bars these days given the chance?? besides BD) we did some cool stuff in England and even hit the Hipp-adrome!
