To say their show design is garbage is just plain ignorant. I, as well as many others, thought this was BD's most entertaining show for years. The down ending didn't garner a roaring crowd response. But, the show was beautifully crafted and kept me captivated all the way through. And... Before anyone assumes that I am a BD homer, regiment is my corps of choice.

It's nice that you say that now. But, after reading your posts the entire season, your opinion doesn't carry much weight. You have an obvious bias towards SCV. That's fine... just own it.

Because you have a tendency to overvalue your favorite corps and undervalue PR.... all the time.

Surprised PR did better than you thought? I am not surprised by that at all....

If you love the activity and want to march corps, you do. If you would rather be a spectator, you don't. The "worth" is up to the individual. As someone who has marched corps and has a professional career as a performer and educator, the doors that have opened and connections I have made through drum corps have really helped me out a lot. I have also participated in a few summer music festivals, and the connections I have made through those are valuable as well. It really is a wash. One is not "worth" more than the other. I think the OP forgets to mention the work ethic that is instilled through corps. However, I suppose that work ethic can be achieved through other mediums.

I was there and would read comments and reviews. Almost all of the comments were: 1) show's too easy 2) too many ballads 3) corps behind them will catch up 4) drumline is dirty 5) brass line is dirty For the life of me, I can't recall anyone saying that they'd medal. Anyway... Moving on. That was last year.

I am not a phantom homer... In fact I marched a west coast corps and am actually a fan of SCV as well. When you present an "honest" opinion that is structured by misinformation, that is where the issue lies. I am not trying to offend you. But, your posts bleed with bias and you are obviously searching for negatives when you watch PR. It's not necessarily "bashing", but it is certainly not an "honest" opinion.

Do you just make these things up in your head? The general consensus was that PR was going to have a down year, and possibly end up in 7th... I can't recall a single person saying they were going to medal, much less win it all. If I recall correctly, they actually got beat by SCV in CA. By the end of the season, they were .15 behind Crown for the 4th spot and pulled away from SCV and Bluecoats. Seems like they ended on a pretty high note, rather than petering out like you suggest. I appreciate your posts, but it is pretty obvious that you are quite the SCV homer...
