  1. It was on Inspire's Facebook page when I posted. I don't know what happened. My apologies!

  5. Following a very successful fundraising weekend, Inspire Arts and Music, the parent organization for the Boston Crusaders, continues to grow. From their Facebook page tonight: "Inspire Arts & Music in partnership with Rent My Instrument.com is excited to announce the launch of Great East Music Store. The Great East Music Store, or GEMS, is an instrument rental service created by music educators for music educators." Read more here: https://www.facebook.com/#!/inspireartsandmusic Another example of the folks from Boston stepping up their game. #BAC2014 #BuildingAChampion

  7. The Corps did not play "Conquest" or "Shipping Up To Boston" at the Castleton community performance. The audience watched about 90 minutes of ensemble rehearsal. During this time, caption heads communicated with the audience about what was happening and why. At the end of ensemble, they did a run-through of the first 3 tunes (music AND drill). That was followed by the corps doing a standstill performance of the 3 songs, along with the parade tune (who's name escapes me) and ending with "Giant". emc2 is correct, in that most of the show has a dark feel to it. Obviously it's early in the year, so things were kinda, sorta dirty. The vantage point wasn't high enough to see the forms clearly. But I know there will be a lot of cool things/forms happening with the drill. 7567BC the performances, on the 14th & 15th, are parades. June 14th early evening (6 or 7pm, I think) Quincy Flag Day Parade, followed by a standstill performance at the end of the parade. June 15th mid day Bunker Hill Day Parade in Charlestown.
  8. If you're looking to catch a rehearsal, your best bet is June 16-18. The Corps has performances scheduled the 12th - 15th.
  9. Horn Teacher - Where abouts are you located? I happen to know the corps is always on the lookout for interim (non show days) housing sites. You can pm me if you don't want your info public. Thanks!
  10. The Corps will be marching tomorrow (Saturday 5/24) 10am in the Memorial Day Parade in Castleton VT. Also from the Corps' Facebook page: "We also will be having our first community performance on Wednesday May 28th at... Castleton State College in the stadium. Rehearsal starts at 7pm and the final run-through begins at 9pm. If you are in the area we encourage you to come see us because we can't wait to show you what we've got!" https://www.facebook.com/BostonCrusaders
  11. Boston Crusaders to receive new uniforms and more, with their new Band Shoppe partnership. Exciting things happening with the Corps! Read more here: http://www.bostoncrusaders.com/news/386-bandshoppe
  12. It was a synth that was used on the drum solo, which was Axel-F.
  13. In a late night press release the Boston Crusaders announced a partnership/sponsorship agreement with Johnson&Johnson and the Gold Bond company. RISE BOSTON RISE!!!!!!
  14. Boston did the same thing in Allentown without a penalty or warning. Selective enforcement?? It's all good. Tomorrow's another day. Boston will Rise!!!!
  15. Congratulations to Boston's Kyle Schmidt for winning I & E on trumpet today!! Way to RISE to the occasion!
  16. This New England feast, Brasso speaks of, was the Corps' annual banquet which was held on Friday evening prior to their departure to Allentown. All of the "fixins" (for 200 people) were provided by a current board member/former instructor/longtime supporter and his family. I believe (not sure about this) that it was cooked by the wonderful kitchen staff of the Crusaders. edited to add: The pictures can be found on the Crusaders' Facebook page. Also it should be noted that the Crusaders Senior Corps once again generously provided a cookout/lunch the day of the home show. I believe it's the third time this year they have fed the Corps and staff.
  17. The Boston faithful believed! RISE BAC RISE
  18. Nevermind 7th! They are only .55 away from Bluecoats in 6th! Objects in the mirror......... RISE BAC RISE
  19. Boston and Madison did 3 songs together during the encore. They started with a variation of "America the Beautiful", followed by "You'll Never Walk Alone", ending with "Conquest". Madison exited the field and Boston finished the encore with "Shipping Up to Boston". This joint encore isn't the first for these 2 storied drumcorps. The Scouts and Crusaders did something similar in 1989 in Port Huron, MI. IMO, I thought it was great and wouldn't mind more of these joint events in the future.
  20. Some corps better start looking in the rear view mirror! The objects they see are closer than they appear! ;) RISE BAC RISE
  21. Someone with the BAC has connections. As the grey jackets were removed to reveal the red ones, the rain lightened up then stopped, almost if on cue. ;) Well done!! Thanks for the review, Brasso!
  22. 1991 the passenger van that towed the kitchen trailer burnt on the way back to Boston from finals in Dallas. That's the only fire that I can recall (from 1987 - present).
