  1. Colts/Colt Cadets can be free with volunteering for bingo and other ways also, excluding some fees I assume.
  2. Great review. Didn't have the brats, not a mid western thing Ill ever try. I do agree that the venue does suck a bit but living here in Dubuque I can tell you there isn't much. Two of the 3 colleges have football teams...bad ones, but nice little stadiums much better than Senior HS, but like someone said, really bad parking. I really liked Spirit, chatted with good friends during Racine and Colt Cadets, saw the Colts, they were ok but my high school did the same type of show 14 years ago! Daughter was tired of sitting and had to walk in the grassy knoll area for the rest of the show but I did enjoy PR and Cavies. Hopefully this is a beginning for my daughter ..... her first drum corps show at 18 months old!
  3. PS - 1979 SCV 3rd 1969 SCV's highest score was 4th at the National Preview in NY but 69 was the Summer of Love was it not?!
  4. Seeing finals for the first time live it was great seeing two California corps going at it, although I was pulling for BD myself it seemed most of the crowd were SCV backers that night. They did impress though.....
  5. 1988, 1997, 2004 Went with 88 because Madison had a good show, we had Phantom of the Opera, a good Cadets show, and Magical Mystery Tour II 97 Because the Cavaliers came out to California!! Plus I like all the shows that year, if only Les Etolies 98 show was in 97!! 2004, because it was my favorite year, enjoyed them all and traveled with the best corps possible, The Crossmen! Although I would show 1995 to people who have never seen the activity, just because it seems the most fan friendly. In the 70's 1978
  6. For Phantom's first ring I'd say about...... $1,996
  7. Great job Devils ( B Corps too). I loved your shows. I look forward to you guys bringing the championship back to California next year!
  8. Save your money for the Regiment Tour Video if they sell it. I imagine it will have all the goodies you folks are asking for. Again Congrats
  9. Congrats to Phantom Regiment, of course. Congrats to the dude who did their drill!! Did I not read before the season started that the guy who did their drill was young and given a lead position, with little experience, relative to others in the visual field? Also, Rick Valenzuela. Great job.
  10. Hey Shaun, The website that you guys used that I did should have had all if not most of the alumni listed, even if only by name. I may have the original website but I didn’t know where it might be and if it's on a floppy, eegads I'm in trouble. Also you might want to go down to the Canos offices. There was a computer I used, not the new HP or Dell but slightly older. On this computer should be the whole database that I did because I would have entered all the info in first and then just copy the info to the website. Short of those two suggestions there is always the mounds of paperwork that had this info. One really old spreadsheet in particular, from the 80's plus odds and ends here and there. I know this doesn't answer your original inquiry but maybe it will help get some of that lost info back so you don't have to start from scratch. Other than that you could always ask Greg what they use. I'm sure it cost quite a bit but boy did that program do just about everything! PS - You should get on bringing all those old videos to the digital age. You'd be amazed. I remember seeing old film from the 60's and maybe the 50's, with other corps also like the Cadets and Cavies, one was in Soldier Field maybe, they might not have had sound though. I think its great what you and Nick are doing and wish you the best!
  11. I found that most corps offer ways to offset your dues but that is about as far as most will go.
  12. I didn't read through all the posts so this may have been brought up. The Colts! One thing I was amazed by was the fact that Greg, Vicki, and Jeff would not turn anyone down for financial reasons who wanted to be a part of the Colts or any of their other programs.
  13. There is also an organization called IMBA. I forget if they had just marching bands or marching bands and drum corps. IMBA's website is http://www.marchingbands.ie/
  14. So will they still keep their properties in Toledo, I assume they would for Bingo operations? Off Topic: I've heard of stories about G-West. Someone who was on their office/tour staff told me once about somebody walking through the front and leaving out the back, in complete darkness, not hitting or knocking anything down and managing to be out of site by the time the person following them got to the exit. From what I was told the person following was going pretty quick and would have at least seen them leave. Of course I've also heard the Colts Bingo center and offices are haunted! When working late I just figure most noise to be from the building itself or the people from the flats walking outside.
  15. 2nd choice. So now is Maumee the smallest city within the US to host a Div 1 corps?? Quick edit: I don't think Tom meant to say their moves will decide anything in their placement, it's just all in good fun. So people need to relax
  16. Could happen if you have a big name lawyer. Like the Ghost of Johnny Cochran. All I want to know is, how do you get the dead horse smiley????
  17. But the Cavaliers are Sponsored by the Village of Rosemont. If this isn't financial support they are still in some way supported by the city, no...yes?? I have always been told by some in the activity it was financial support. Also refering back to the young lady who joined the Citadel, I believe. She had plenty of other education and military options to pursue but decided on that particular school and won her case in court. I don't care either way and it may seem unlikely that it could happen but a person with money and plenty of free time could make a go at it and probably win. Well maybe not in Wisconsin but in the Chicago area, I think they would have a good chance.
  18. Well I have a question. This topic was brought up with a friend years ago and we were wondering..... If a young lady, made herself out to be a young man, you know go through the process of hiding or covering up who she was (The Physical aspect). Then was offered a spot in the corps and later said "Guess what, I'm a woman" would she be allowed to join? If I'm not mistaken didn't this happen some years back with the young lady filling out an application to an all male school, getting accepted, then being told she couldn't attend (But did eventually) after she revealed she was a woman?
  19. Asking how the corps was and answering the question is exactly what has happened. Somebody asked a question and it was answered. A member of this past years corps brought up a topic regarding this corps and the events surrounding it's demise in the spring of this year, and the topic took off from there even further. Never in any part of my first posting did I ever single anybody out on this discussion group, make it personal towards anyone who posts, or belittle others on this board. To think I don't have a soft spot for this corps is wrong too. (Check www.geocities.com/dci99dcuk00 it's still open for someone to take and use) It was only after a juvenile posting that I posted smiles. You don't argue your point by calling people names. What is this the 6th grade? So be careful who you call jerks. I personally won't put up with people who are rude or disrespectful, I don't take it from my 6 year old kid and I won't take it from some boy. Have a good night conner
  20. His posting speaks for itself :feednotroll: anymore
