  1. I'm pretty sure he's claimed he's already marched with the Cavies
  2. Maybe "your attitude sucks" works a little better.
  3. Cadets are doing a live feed from spring training at 8 PM this Thursday on Periscope
  4. how does one roll up booty shorts lol? (Weirdest thing to ever be discussed on DCP?)
  5. Booty shorts are completely normal attire. They're even allowed in high schools. I can understand people complaining about girls in sports bras or guys shirtless, but I don't think complaining about the shorts is really that valid.
  6. You're right, and they have been. Nothing wrong with that. I think you still think people are going after SOA, and I'm sorry to tell you that is simply a persecution complex. Comparisons are simply being made.
  7. That might explain it. The only times I've seen them have been once at Allentown and once at Salem, both of which are pretty late into the season.
  8. I don't think it's unfair to point out the similarities, especially since BAC's show was only two years ago. There isn't any malicious intent behind it. And, as you so passively-agressively implied, no one is sending them any ill wishes. It's just natural for comparisons to be made and It'll be interesting to see how they approach this show compared to BAC.
  9. No problem, just keeping me honest! Maybe it's because I've only seen BD live twice, but I definitely haven't noticed any balance issues from them when it comes to electronics.
  10. That's probably the most angsty first post I've seen from a DCP member ever. Congrats?
  11. I mentioned that fact a while ago when the show theme was first announced and got slammed for it. But yeah I definitely see the similarities. Also, Tara's Theme is beautiful and the fact that they aregoing to be weaving it in throughout the show makes me pretty excited.
  12. Ah if the bolded line is what your issue is, then you've misunderstood the point of the post. The perfect show can only be individual to a person. The perfect show to one person can be very imperfect to others. It's just that some shows seem perfect to more people than others. Shortn'sour said that Bluecoats is the perfect drum corps show, but it is the perfect show only to him (unless others agree of course). The point is, the perfect show is something that can move you, make you gasp in awe, and completely immerse you. If extreme technical proficiency is what it takes for a show to do get that type of response out of you, then so be it.
  13. Really? The only corps I can think of that elicits that type of response nowadays with potentially dirty shows are Madison and Cavies (sorry, I'm not exactly afraid of naming names). But even then, the Cavies were quite technically proficient last season. And other corps that do get those type of responses such as Crown, Bluecoats, Cadets, etc ARE very technically proficient. I'm not exactly sure what you're complaining about. Either way, you're asking for technical mastery. Doing simple concepts extremely well is still technical mastery, whether the difficulty level is very high or not.
  14. I remember the Cadets did a live stream of the first half of their show sometime last year during spring training. I wonder if they'll do the same again this year?
  15. Technical mastery is a precursor to HornTeacher's 3 points. It's implied that the technical mastery of the corps is what elicits those reactions from individual audience members.
  16. I'm not a percussion guy and I rarely actively notice what the percussion is doing during a show. But their line and book last year really got my attention. They sounded amazing. Only a few drumlines (like Cadets 2013) have been able to get my attention like that.
  17. I think that's assumed. I want to know details. Anyone can throw out a statement, but people should be able to back it up.
  18. Very nice. I agree with the criteria very much as well as your sentiment that ultimately the score does not matter. As I read the post, I tried to think of some shows that, for me, satisfied that criteria. From what I've thought of so far, Crown 2013 and Blue Knights 2014 seem to fulfill it for me.
  19. Woah seriously? I'm not sure how I've never noticed that in person or in pictures.
  20. What exactly is "the inherent nature of drum corps?"
  21. So they're going back to the Holy Name Cadets moniker this season?
